  • This dude, Dave Mathews, is Pop in the fullest sense oft he word, but nice to listen to. Elvis is, well, a tight ass, overly educated, high bro, low funk value, weird muthah fuckah, and John Mayer is, just to be simple, cool.

  • @KingKook Dave isn't pop..

  • @JCProductions75 What then? Poop?

  • @KingKook Pop sucks lol... Dave matthews band is rock or there like a jam band and there a little bluegrassy sometimes

  • @JCProductions75 Okey Dokey...

  • john mayer muted the drums

  • Dave Matthews is god even when he's playing Sting. That was great.

  • what song does dave sing? i love it!!!

  • @ejlarsonstratford "Bed's too big without you"

  • Love this clip. I especially enjoyed Dave's cover of "This Bed's Too Big Without You". Sting rocks my world - always classy, sexy and poetic! Peace.

  • elvis costello sucks. why is he famous again?

  • @libertyfalls I think it has something to do with the fact that he has put out at least one great album in each of the last four decades.

Listen to My Aim Is True. Listen to The Juliet Letters. Listen to The Delivery Man.

He doesn't suck. He might not have the best batting average in the business, but he's put out some amazing records.

  • John Mayer is Badass, and so is Dave Matthews... THe Top Musicians of our time! Denying it is only more proof to the truth!

  • John Mayer is a god.

fuck you John Mayer haters. He is over rated for the reason he is a bad ass. You ignorant tone deaf fucks.

  • Of course the only people who give me a thumbs down are the people who are dave matthews fans

  • Your an idiot, of course the only people are dmb fans. people who dont like dave are not gonna thumbs down. retard

And no way does dave suck now, his new CD is huge among dave fans and to those who arnt true dave fans it is still very well received, it was up for Album of the Year

  • I would pay good money for this whole thing...anyone? anyone??

  • ummm, wtf is John Mayer doing on It's Probably Me?

  • being creative

  • Nice !

    Thanks

  • any body know what's the second song is called?

  • "Every little thing she does is magic" from The Police's 1981 "Ghost in the Machine"

  • I hate it when great musical talents are compared like sport figures. Both John Mayer and Dave Matthews got where they are by being true to their art, chasing that song they hear in their head, but certainly not competing with each other. There are plenty of musicians out there who play faster and technically better than both of these artists, but apart from being amazed at their abilities I don't care too much for the music they make.

  • No is better then Dave.

  • Is that a typo or am I just not understanding?

  • faster, first of all, means absolutely nothing to me......when did faster become better? (musically speaking) second, technically better???? give me an example so i can laugh at you a little harder....

  • I think you missed my whole point. My point is they are artists not musical athletes. I wouldn't want to buy their music if they were. I am a studio musician and composer and so when I speak of technical difficulty I do have an idea and no I'm not talking about speed metal. As a keyboardist my heroes are Oscar Peterson, Chick Corea and Keith Emerson. As a listener I love this particular niche DMB, John Mayer, Sting, Seal. DMB is my favorite band because the music is tasteful not bc it's hard.

  • after hearing him play bed's too big without you, i think dave should make an album of accoustic covers/originals. he'd knock them out of the park as usual

  • john is not even close to stevie, elvs is an instant classic, dave is God. ty.

  • john mayer is very much like stevie ray, since that's one of his major influences, along with hendrix. i'd expect him to sound like those he admires so much. john is truly amazing, he knows the guitar very well and has the lyrics of a deep thinking poet. he is 2nd only to dave matthews in my eyes.

  • rock 'n roll ukulele

elvis is my favorite of the three

  • hey everyone i was trying to play Dave's song (bed's too big...) and i can't figure out his chords and i know its not how sting plays it. can anyone help me?? I'll help you tab out a different song lol please! it'd be so sick to play!

  • don't you ever compare mayer with stevie ray vaughan ever again, ever. Not even close how dare you disrespect stevie ray vaughan like that

  • i believe i said the next best!!!

  • check out Out Of My Mind live in LA....thats all im saying

  • wow this is amazing. daves my favorite though!

  • Dave and Elvis were great. I have no f'ing idea why Mayer was there.

  • mayer is great...he is god.. what are you talking about.

  • God of what? God of the idiots? God of pimping yourself for the paparazzi? God of bubblegum pop music - but trying to appear deep? God of the ass clowns? God of those who try to be funny but fall miserably short?

  • Idiot? Ass Clown? No. Deep. Hell yes. If you are calling John Mayer the king of "bubblegum pop music," you clearly do not know John Mayer. And he is not only incredibly talented musically, he is also one hell of a comedian. If you do not find yourself impressed or entertained by him, you are not human.

  • Bubblegum music? Have you only listened to "Your Body is a Wonderland"? John Mayer keeps the bluesmusic alive. Alright, he is not that jimi-srv-bbking-kind-of bluesman, but he's a master on the guitar. Have you ever listened to his album "TRY!"? Jesus..

  • what the hell man.learn how to really play guitar and then try play belief or neon or waiting on the world to change. i'm telling you this guy has more talent in his thumb than you have in your entire body. and bubble gum pop music? WERE YOU EVEN LISTENING? Mayer is the next best thing to having stevie ray vaughan back when it comes to blues and you have the nerve to say god of bubblegum pop music.last thing im going to say before i rip your head off is go up on stage and see if you better

  • Rip my head off? Thanks for the first chuckle of my day. Im sure JM could out play me on a guitar, for sure, but if I could play, I wouldn't want to sound a thing like him. However, I'll take my athleticism over his anyday CHIEF! Now go pretend your JM in the mirror some more.

  • what the fuck is wrong with you? you know what go eat some chips and go yell at a tv. or become one i dont really give a shit im thru with you!

  • John's amazing, yes, but inconsistent. His guitar sound tends to lie in its difficulty with a few exceptions (waiting on the world to change is ridiculously easy by the way), where Dave's sound is his own and amazing, no matter what he's playing. Not to say i don't love john - neon is ridiculous and blows my socks off, but so can play too... try the stone without batting and eye, and then sing over it. I dunno, they're both amazing in their own right, dave's just more for me

  • very understandable. and waiting is just too easy!! and dave is a wonderful musician too. john mayer was just my first love when it comes to guitar. probably like dave was for you. and i just put my defences up when it comes to john. probably like you do for dave.

  • too true! i think you nailed it there: dave was definitely my first guitar hero, haha in the true sense, and yea, i'll defend dave to the last. both are amazing, and either way, i'm game, music is music, if you're enjoying it, whatever it is, you get it :)

  • This awesome. As someone who had the good furtune to see Sting and Elvis Costello perform together live, singing "Alison" at a Police Ruenion concert, I'm a huge fan of both, and Sting is my idol. Mayer's version of "It's Probably Me" is very inventive.

  • Holy crap- where you there??

  • during the john mayer song the drums are playing but you cant hear them at all.

  • what is the song john is playing called?

  • The song is called "It's probably me" - it was originally recorded by Sting and Eric Clapton for a Lethal Weapon soundtrack.

  • Elvis sounds fantastic! Not long enough.

  • Elvis is the best singer of the three ..Sting is the best songwriter of all time (along with Lennon /McCartney) bless him!

  • Dave Rocked Sting's song. He sound wickedly similar to him. But my preference is the South African himself.

  • lol, Dave's from South Africa too dude

  • rofl, Sting isn't from S.A., sooooo I assume he meant DAVE.

  • What an awesome trio of performances of the music of one of my oldest inspirations. Never was a Costello fan, but I have a lot of respect for him now. Dave and John are my new inspirations. This was such a treat. Thanks for posting it!

  • John Mayer is the apprentice in waiting to Sting. Great to see the performances!

  • Amazing combination of artists! They all rock!

  • In time: the complete title of Steve Nieve´s opera is "Welcome to the Voice".

  • Tough Costello had been a kind of "rival" of Sting, he accepted to appear in this tribute show by a request of Sting himself. After that, both of them wrote songs for the soundtrack of the movie "Cold Mountain". They even sing together in the latest Steve Nieve album, "The voice".

  • please learn something about music and quit being ignorant...
