They are both Israeli, who chose to live in Germany. They are divorced. 'A shatel" is a wig. Jewish religious women wear it when they are married, to hide their hair. In this case, even if this is a wig, it is because Esther has curled hair, and fashion in the 60th was straight. By the way, to my opinion, her natural hair is nicer, when it is short. I would choose chestnut colour (now it is red).
