K24 is a K series engine but its a 2.4 liter, the K20 is also a K series engine but it is a 2.0 liter, basicly with this swap you get an extra 0.4 liters or 400cc more displacement,
theres no replacement for displacement
i acually have a K24 RSX and im running 11.5 psi - thing is freakin mean
you swapped in a stock k24/tsx long block? how you like the difference from your k20a2? i am pretty sure you'll be camming that k24 but when you had stock k24 howd you like that? Thanks
My boy swapped a k20/k24 hybrid in his EP3. The thing was alot faster than stock but i smoke him with my GTI all dai. Basically your car pulls, but def not hard enough to beat a euro hatch.
hahahahahahahahahahahahah. maybe not, but it will be nipping at your heels and with a good driver, leaving you in the dust. not to mention they will be problem free. and cheaper to upgrade. and I-vtec is genious. im not down grading european cars but just google i-vtec one day and research it. hondas are amazing. i just tore one apart and put cams and rebuilt it. a k24a2. but i do also love me a nice euro. what year is your gti?
2005 1.8t 20valve. the last year they released the 180hp 1.8t. just got new software and drove from jersey to florida without a hiccup. unitronics the shit. and hondas are very good engines.. but theyre also very good copycats too. research "variable cam phasing" and youll see the old 1.8 n/a on the mk2 gti's had a varation of v-tec years before honda released it
honda released vtec in japan in 1983 for use in motorcycles an in 1989 they released vtec for the auto industry. not to mention they didnt copy anyone being as that they didnt use vvt or cam phasing. they created a cam with two lobe profiles. vvt and cam phasing only control the time of valve lift. not the lift and duration. oh and Fiat, GM, Alfa Romeo, And nissan (in that order) all had valve phasing before volkswagen making them the copy cat. vtec was an all original design.
its a k24 from an accord and a head from a 2002 type s. not sure if it was an rsx or si. its got around 240-260hp on tap but the torque is limited to the injectors. he runs hondata k-pro.. best ecu you could get for this swap at the time. the hoods been shaved inside b/c the damn this wouldnt close
maybe you were highly modded. all i have is a k20a2 from an RSX-S (200hp)with an intake and header, and stock exhaust, swapped into a 2000 civic coupe with full weight. and i beat GTI's all the time. they're nice. but not unbeatable with such low power they have from their turboed motors.
my friends k24 swapped ek9 is smoked everytime. all i can say is that both of our cars 2nd gear is very very fast. i had bald tired and was burning in 3rd. never lost to him tho :p
?? is it the right k24? either a k24 bottom end with a k20a2 head, or k20z1 head and 6spd, or a k24a2 TSX motor with a 6 spd tranny. because if its just some other k24 with like 160hp and the vtec only working on one cam and its a 5 spd. it will lose then. but i dont know your mods.
oh, and ek9 is only the japanese type r hatchback, that is right hand drive. and american 96-00 hatches are stil EJ =P
impressive torque numbers

JRSC? Have you gotten that thing dyno'd yet? I'm curious to what those numbers are. S/C + 11psi, etc are soon to be installed. ;-)

K24a2 TSX block, yup. The torque is nice, going to S/C it soon. This dyno is with 06+ TSX intake cam/02-04 Type-S exhaust cam installed
