  • Great choice qarnos. GREAT choice. My favorite exchange from the movie has to be when Mac asks for more of that 42 year old scotch and, being told there is no more, quips, "well then give me 4-eight year olds and a 10-year old!!" This movie and Chariots of Fire (coincidence?) are my two favorite films all time.

  • I have to say that this is the only film, and I'm not exaggerating that I think should not have clips on Youtube. Why? Because this film is so perfectly subtle, that one needs to have it wash over them, rather than be briefed by scenes or synopsis. Seeing this film is an experience. As much as I love seeing the clips, I cannot watch them for it dilutes the impact of being exposed to the film in its entirety. Those who haven't seen it, risk having the magic ruined by seeing clips. just saying.

  • This is a masterpiece. But I disagree with your description. You can find this in a Hollywood movie, just not one made nowadays. Ever see How Green Was My Valley? or The Quiet Man? There were many, many excellent films made in Hollywood's golden era.

  • i wonder what ever happened to the lady who played 'marina'.......ms seagrove!!??? is she still acting ???

  • @andytubeism Look for her in The Sign of Four, Sherlock Holmes story made by Granada films. Jeremy Brett.

  • Victor, the Soviet, tries to comfort the capitalist! What a wonderful story.....

  • Malcolm Tucker, before he became bitter and profane. ;)

  • I need tens Roddy!!

  • "I'd make a good Gordon, Gordan." This is the most underated film of the 80's. I never get tired watching the DVD. I wish I could live there, or at least visit a few times a year. Thank you for posting this gem.

  • "God! It just went red all over!"

That line always kills me. Damn fine movie.

I agree, some youtube clips will probably only spark a few more ppl to buy the DVD.

  • thank you so much for posting this!!!

*it's red all over!! it's red all over!!*

  • I love the way he says "cheers" =)

  • Who gives a shit if it's illegal? If anything this'll prompt more people to buy the DVD. He's doing the movie a favour by posting it.

  • bighewer, i agree, especially for such a wonderful & often overlooked movie. it needs to be seen and enjoyed. by the way i own the new dvd & i still enjoy watching utube clips. ;}

  • @TangerineTangerine I'm very interested in what you said. Can you tell me, why is it that you enjoy watching it on YT even though you have the DVD? My own theory is that we need to share these great moments with others, even strangers and preferably LIVE (being broadcast) rather than at our own isolated time and place, completely unconnected with others. I've been studying our recent media/culture transformation into 'On Demand' everything.

  • Amazing scene from a fantastic film.

  • Great Job but illegal

  • Love this.

  • Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for posting this. I was waiting for this one. Great job.
