I thought that was interesting in regards to what you had to say about motivation and association. Perhaps that is why flow is such an important tool in music and sports psychology.

In regards to self awareness and association as a whole, I think it all boils down to how we identify ourselves. I don't mean that necessarily from a cognitive standpoint but a perceptual one.
Dissociation - to some extent - seems pretty common amongst all humans. I would even consider empathy a sign of dissociation, the ability to feel what others feel.
You mention a "God's eye" view? Would you consider that an association into all perspectives all at once?
Objectivity perhaps depends on the perspective?
