  • the beauty of an electric motor, capable of higher rpm than a traditional combustion engine without blowing up, allows you to get more out of each gear without worrying about redlining.

  • i hate electric cars, they dont make sounds, electricity is not the future, natural gas or solar powered maybe but i just think gas engines with higher effeiciency are better!

  • @tuugfo solar power generates electricity, therefore solar power IS electricity.

  • @skisail No, electricity IS electrical energy, solar power IS solar energy.

    Not the same thing.

  • Wow that Merc really messed up the shifting lol

  • Think these are out the box doing low 13s to high 12s think what will happen in just a few short years. Cars will get faster in the futur which defines technology the ablity to faster for less.

  • EV's are the future here and now. You just can't beat the value... everything else is stone age really...

  • @blaxpear so 100,000 dollars is a great value for a car i can beat in my 30,000 dollar mustang? also, i would advise you to take some engineering classes before you call today's petrol engines stoneage

  • tesla's are awsome, 2200 lb's of torque at 8 mph

  • @celciuszero 2200 lb's of torque is useless at 8 mph

  • @midflder92 The point being that by the time it hits 8 mph, it's producing more torque than pretty much any other car will ever make

  • @celciuszero i checked several places and even tesla claims a max of only 295 lb ft from 0-5000 rpm

  • lol loneshark2000

You will never have to worry about missing a gear in an EV

    :)

  • So many Teslas... I'm in love!!

  • oh god that last race the mustang missed 3rd so bad.... hahahaha ouch.

  • Great stuff.

  • It comes better: EVs can last slonger cuz they have almost no moving parts and a way simpler transmission (2 gears) so they also dont depreciate so much like gas cars and u save repair costs.

Even better: buying the car now and upgrade it by buyin a new battery in 5-6 years that will probably give a range of 500 miles. I say: sweeeeeet investment!

  • They don't have an transmission. (Or at least donät need one)

  • actually some do. An ev, even one with a 14000rpm redline needs at least two cogs to get lickety-split to 100kmh and still top-out at 200. In fact, transmission design was a problem of Tesla Motors that delayed their final launch date for the Roadster. So bigger+faster ones need one

  • @3rdMayhem the roadster only has one gear

  • @35speedracer1 correction, they had to add another gear as the older 1 gear tesla had transmission wear problems .. imagine all that torque starting 1rpm delivered to only 1 gear.. so it's a 2 gear now .

  • no it takes 3 hours to charge up if u have a 240 volt charge station WHICH is recommended. in the new Model S car (which comes out 2011) it has a 300 mile range which is awesome since the average driver goes less than 40 miles a day. The new Model S can charge in 45 minutes and they are building replacement battery stations in case u have to go on long trips.

  • I doubt an normal household can support that many ampere in 3 hours?

  • A Tesla Roadster could do about 50 runs on the 1/4 miles track with a full 0-100 mph. The refill time from empty is 3 hours.

  • go little yellow car go :D

    love the electric car!
