Biosphere II was basically a large greenhouse. It was constructed on Earth, which already supports life, and it failed miserably. Replicating Biosphere II on Mars would produce even more disastrous results. In order to "terraform" Mars you'd have to find some way to bind an atmosphere, and some way to increase the energy reaching Mars from the sun (or somewhere). It would be a massive undertaking that would make the Giza pyramids look trivial, and we can't reproduce them yet.

Mars certainly is dry, which means any life support infrastructure there would rely utterly on water brought there from elsewhere or synthesized there. As Earth is the only known source of abundant liquid water in the universe, that's a tall order. But you're correct, Mars does not get enough sunlight to support life as we know it. Again, that energy would have to come from elsewhere or be generated there.

When a good system is made, who knows what we would need to survive? The whole gameplan may change. [ and about value? most of todays people don't have an interest when the shuttles take off, to them it's common, no big deal! The only thing mars and the moon can offer us, is a view for observation equipment, or mining. Mining is the only profit to humans from this. Forget terraform, we can't recover dead zones, or deserts on earth. Scientists need grant money to survive. So who is going to put money into this without the hope of a return in investment? I wouldn't! unless it was for mining. Humans aren't needed for that, machines can do it. Otherwise the men on mars thing is a waste of important money.

There is also a subjective value in actually having human beings go there and set foot on the world. Not everyone will think that worth the pricetag but some will and when enough do, it will happen.

It's unlikely in the extreme that human beings will ever set foot on Mars. For one thing, there's no compelling reason to put human beings on Mars. For another, it would be a tremendous waste of resources. Even so, we still see the faithful flock like you already setting up straw men to knock down, when as of now it's a non-issue. Biosphere II was basically a large greenhouse. It was constructed on Earth, which already supports life, and it failed miserably. Replicating Biosphere II on Mars would produce even more disastrous results. In order to "terraform" Mars you'd have to find some way to bind an atmosphere, and some way to increase the energy reaching Mars from the sun (or somewhere). It would be a massive undertaking that would make the Giza pyramids look trivial, and we can't reproduce them yet.

Mars certainly is dry, which means any life support infrastructure there would rely utterly on water brought there from elsewhere or synthesized there. As Earth is the only known source of abundant liquid water in the universe, that's a tall order. But you're correct, Mars does not get enough sunlight to support life as we know it. Again, that energy would have to come from elsewhere or be generated there.

Your belief that in our current state of technology we could reproduce the Giza pyramids is not shared by nearly anyone who understands their construction and the sheer magnitude of the project.
