@aflyingspoon I've tried that argument in my religious philosophy class, and while it's an opinion that I personally give merit, it's a tough sell to the religious or philosophical community. I firmly believe that things like gods gain power from people's belief and faith in them but traditionally a God is considered a God whether people give it praise or not. In general I like your argument, but feel the need to point out that he is no longer worshipped, per se. Does that nullify his Godship?

The existence of omnipotent beings aside, the difference between Alien and Supernatural is a fine line in these cases. Perhaps another way of viewing it is, if the being can be explained by logic, physics and biology, then it can be classified as extraterrestrial... If not, surely it must be something else... Whether that can be called a "God" or not, is dependant (I believe) on peoples opinions.
