  • I don't know were yu people ar comin from why wud yu not be proud to be irish that strat is his signature worth probally more money than yu will make in the next 10 yrs it's a vintage 1961 strat he bought it new used it for most of his life, thats wat makes his unique sound, plus the fact he's one of the all time greats.

  • this dude makes me almost proud to be irish

  • putain quel talent !!!!

  • dam staght drunlk and loving it

  • απίστευτο

  • The word Great is too small for Rory.

  • One of the best Guitar Player i ever seen, old schol but brilliant and natural

  • Och Rory why did ye have tae go and fuck up like that Ye left us far too soon

  • the old strat dosnt sound great but what a plkayer

  • the old strat dosnt sound great

  • Rory ,we never forget you

  • Who are the two assholes that DO NOT like this?

  • great bass line anyway :)

  • What tone !!!!!! Even for Rory, this particular performance, the tone from his Strat is just blowing me away. So smooth, creamy, and at the same time so biting. Insane !!

Anybody know what amp and pedatls he might have been using in this performance??? Thanks

  • @altadena57 The only effect Rory ever used was a range master treble booster. The incredible sounds he created were from his tone controls, and fret work. His amp was usually a Vox AC30.

  • @Gallagherfreak100 Actually he used Rangemaster, MXR Phase 90, Dynacomp, old Boss Octaver, Boss Flanger, Boss EQ, Ibanez Tubescreamer and Hawk Booster. He used Vox AC30, some vintage Fender Amps ('50 Bassman on Irish Tour, I think) and some other amps including Marshall half stack (JCM 800???)

    RORY IS A LEGEND!!!!!

  • Search Asian wives lushfmlk.info

  • THE BEST EVER:

    RORY GALLAGHER!

  • The only guitarist I've seen change a string while playing Guittar Madrid 1975. The most authentic person I've seen in the world of Rock

  • I feel the vibration from my guitar and question this world for money and the ego that trys to buy .......... .... .... ... for in hindsight it's clear the dept this musician took his preformance and craft .I used to swear by jimmy page before youtube exposed all these recordings cleverly hide from my ears and eyes for so long . One day the youtube revolution came our way ever since I am a million miles away while sitting here in this chair talking with a tatoo'd lady about walking on hot coals

  • truly one of the best that never got the credit he was due, not to disrespect the new players but they don't make them like this anymore and you know who you are !

  • Rory was one of those guitar players I could never figure out why he was never given the credit he was due, truly one of the best performers I grew up listening to and without knocking down the new ones to come along but so many of todays kids really missed out .........what a shame :(

  • john cusack twin

  • wonderful. this could be on par with the irish tour version... I rather Rory with no keyboards...

  • miss him so. stellar jam y'all, what a great post! RORY RULES

  • Just great. For my money, that's the best version.

  • 0.53 τα δινει το αλανι

  • Rory was the best that's a fact! I love this tune, probably my favorite version. This version and the version from 74 tour is awesome as well. I'll never understand why he wasn't as prominent as Clapton and those guys. Duane Allman was a great slide and all around guitarist, but Rory's slide guitar work is unmatched! In my opinion. Rory was simply fantastic and underrated. The top 10 rock guitarists of all time should include Rory. Who ever makes those lists knows nothing about great guitar!

  • @sunberst1 ...... because Rory Never sold out for a commercial radio friendly unit shifter

  • Don´t miss this cover version: BAP - Millione Meile - Gaffenberg Konzert in Heilbronn am 03.07.2009

  • remembering Rory who died 15 years ago today, his music lives on for ever

  • rory we love ya.

  • Does anyone knows what is that red effect on Rory's amplifier? Vox?

  • Does anyone knows what is that red effect on Rory's amplifier? Vox?

  • Look at him!You look his love his passion his feelings! That's the difference between the legend and the singer

  • I am going to try it !

  • is like god

  • The Irish tour jam is the best of this but this aint bad..little more meaty not as bluesy but sitll good.

  • this recording sounds pretty awesome to me.. i love all the different versions hes dose....one of the best lead playing in this one ..wishd he could go on and on...what a monster tone he had! happy birth day RORY! RIP

  • this is not the best recording of this at all,

  • What a guy,

  • do not forget him pls

  • Maybe his best version ever.

  • Love this song, reminds me of all the dudes drawn with the Titanic, sorry

  • What, ....

  • rockfellaton, i heard this story about terry kath... and it might have been true... anyway this is such an useless debate to have, as long as we like one's music and skill why should we proove that he is the best of all time?

  • compared to other recordings, the echo is distracting, I miss the "closeness" other postings manage to capture better

  • hendrix was once asked 'how does it feel to be the greatest guitarist in the world?', he replied 'i dunno u'd have to ask rory gallagher'...

  • So he heard pre 70's Gallagher ?

  • i duno if its true, he mite hav heard gallaghers work wif taste..

  • god i love rory

  • Zondag 19 april 2009 last time with Gerry mcavoy,Brenden o neill and Marcel Scherpenzeel at the Kade Zaandam Holland show starts at 1645!!!!

    be there!!!!

  • disturbing bullshit, an example of modern-day hedonism and the need for exposure at any price, hope the "kade" will go up in apocaliptic fire storm.

  • Me too.

  • Verygood guitar playing, I love it

  • very good live guitar playing

  • I love this guitar solo.

After 30 years still a favourite guitar player.

  • mooi zonder meer R.I.P Rory.

  • If anybody watched this and enjoyed the song,

PLEASE watch the irish tour performance!!!!!!

there is sooo much more emotion in it,

Its my favorite performance other then the tattoo'd lady performance on the irish tour!!haha

  • At his peak..when I listen to this..I fall apart..

  • rory was my first taste of live music back in 1972 and he was awesome what a truly great performer

  • The many times I saw Rory Gallagher, he NEVER ceased to amaze me.

  • agree excellent

  • I think this is Rory's Best song and it has stood the true test....The test of time...It is the mark of a truly tallented preformer who paved the way for what was to come for many young guitarists....Yes Rory was amazing and to have the chance to see him play this omre than once or twice is a memory that i shall cherish until the day I die.

  • under appriciated for damn shure , people don't realize the importance of artist like rory, they shape vour life and they're our hero's ,but to be the caliber of person rory was ,well it was humble, honest, inviting, solom, peacefull and teacher all in one. HE LEFT US WAY TO SOON, JUST LIKE ALL THE GREAT ONES.

  • I couldn't have said it better myself. Rory was genius.

  • Wann wae das 1982 , 1983 ?? Einfach Super

  • damn, so proud he's irish

  • There are many great guitarists but none will ever match the brilliance of Rory Gallagher. Simply the best......

  • One of my favorite songs by Rory.

  • My uncle introduced me to Rory when i was just a kid, and i was sold whan i heard the first riff.. Ive never heard anything like Rory on the guitar. In my book Rory Gallager Is the best guitarplayer how ever held in a guitar. The range and tecnical skill of that man was incredible.. I wish i could have seen him live.. keep rockin Rory, you rule.. Kristoffer, Sweden

  • absolutely my friend. did see him live in cleveland in 72 and went backstage. great person, great band. Your uncle knows his music.

Turn your friends on to him. He did not get the recognition he deserved.

    Rory On,

    denise

  • i see him manny times Live,

and we smoke a little friend for a time

    but he is unbelieveable gittarlord.

    For all the time...

  • was this the same year as lizzys gig at rockpalast, cos if it is then that must have been some fuckin gig :O

  • this version is fantastic!

  • my favorite dvd ever!!!!

that and tattoo lady, a masterclass in guitar music!!!

  • I just bought The Live At Rockpalast dvd set because of the posting of this song. I must tell you , it was the best investment I've made in years. Thank you for posting my favorite vesion of my favorite song krashnif!

  • Nice to hear comments like that 4GR8MUSIC.Rory was the best of the best. Thanks from krahsnif.

  • Rory, the guy that taught me slide guitar!!

    Thanks Tony.

  • Best Rory song ever after my namesake..

  • Never heard of him bud. Sounds pretty damn good though. The style of music is similar to another band I'm trying to figure....Almond Brothers? Skynard? It's like a mix of some kind. Several bands into one.

  • I presume you mean Allman Brothers man? Yeah Gallagher played blues rock and would have had similar influences to both the Allmans and Skynyrd and he plays a lot of slide too but being from the South they're called Southern Rock where as Gallagher is Irish so it's just called Blues Rock. He'd be bigger in Central Europe than America but if you're into blues check him out and you won't go wrong.

  • Yes thanx 314. I wasn't too sure of their name. I wrestled with it for a while and guessed wrong. I'm not much of a blues fan. I do love a few tho. I think I own 1 Allman Brothers C.D. Thanks for the correction Bro. I love Freebird, simple man. later bud

  • hey there brother! how are ya?

  • Feeling a bit better. How about you?

  • ok mate, all the better for hearing from you my freind.

  • God I wish rory was still here, why is it that we lose the greatest people.

  • We're blessed to have heard what he left behind.

  • quite right freind,he sure left a magnificent gift of great music for us,his death was so tragic that I just can't rationalise it,I wonder what he'd be sounding like these days,I always think that about many of the greats we lost.what might have been.
