  • now that's how an ambulance should look like. Awsome pattern on the LED's

  • she needs a new flash pattern

  • Bet it looks cool at night.

  • wow, i love it, verry cool ambulance ;o)

  • its kinda ugly

  • It's the Opticom. It only is on when the vehicle is in drive.

  • the small light on the top center is a work light.

  • Worst light package, I've seen hooplie vollies cars with better LEDs

  • @RBFF123 Why do you say that? They've got plenty of forward facing, they've got intersection lights... the only thing I don't get is the tiny light in center of the top lights.

But you can tell by the other videos posted of similar units (from the same district) that these LEDs spread well enough (for LEDs)

Not to mention with that color scheme, you don't even need lights on to be highly visible.

  • like the color neon green on blue

  • @MultiMonster69 It Neon Yellow Bud

  • @tx613 sorry im color blind in one eye couldn tell

  • need more red in the front

  • Is that like the towns ambulance or a private company? that things nice

  • @ArmystrongHOOAH1 It is the city/county ems service not a private company.

  • @ArmystrongHOOAH1 Its city/county owned cause its call Austin Travis County EMS

  • Sweeet! Want one!

  • Awsome. Very nice rig

  • Can i take it home

  • cool lights; very different from what we're used to in Germany

  • The row of LED's are nice but the flash pattern is too bland. Needs a more random and/or attention getting pattern. Just an opinion only.

  • @heyjonathan101 well in austin they are like that this is more of like a parking type light setting when they are screaming down the road its pretty awesome

  • You can't tell what the thing is with the LED's that bland. Better to have the coloured lens than the clear ones.

  • Colorfuuul! :D

  • UGLY ASS LIGHTS. My ambulance department uses the Horton International which has MUCH nicer lights.

  • yeah, terrible lighting package

  • Are we seeing red, white and blue LEDs?

Makes sense to flash those lights together as they do.

Even more effective at catching the unexpecting eye is to flash ALL ON/ALL OFF.

I'd keep the blue LED lights on steadily.

The little dinky light in the middle above the cab is a worthless waste of money.

    Nice truck colors!

Flashing headlights are the most effective waning light!

  • your dumb. first of all, if you kept the blues on steady it wouldnt cathc anyones attention. secondly, the "dinky" light on teh fender isnt facing the front. its facing the side for intersection lighting so people see them when they enter a inteersection. and having the lights flash all ON/OFF would be a terrible decision since: there is a point in which there would be no lights flashing and that would cut down on the lights effectiveness.

  • Blue light, to which the human eye is most sensitive, also stands out best against background light clutter.

You flicker or flash the brighter RED, or better, WHITE, to draw glance.

The light in the middle ABOVE CAB is worthless.

The one-second OFF phase, where ALL lights are off, is short and not significant.

But ALL ON/ALL OFF is FAR more eye-catching.

I made a circuit which rapidly flashes our LEDs during the 1-second "OFF" phase. Then, ALL are on steadily for the one second ON.

  • oh, ya i didnt even see the little lin 6 over the cab. but i think that if there is always a light flashing then it would grab more attention. and blue as steady burn would not grab the eyes attention unless it was night. red is the brightest(otehr then amber and white) in the day and blue at night. i think pulsating light catches the eyes attention more then a steadfy burn. take for example: the wig wags on a police car headlight. wigs wags grab attention and steady lights dont..

  • You are right - pulsing draws the unexpecting eye. All together even better.

    But steady appears brighter.

Use pulsing to draw gaze to steady burn.

    My circuit:

    PULSE| ON |PULSE| ON |

You have a good idea keeping one on during an "OFF" phase.

I have a steady LED in wheelwells above the right and left frontires

Yes, headlight wigwags are excellent. Even better is BOTH ON/BOTH OFF simultaneously. (I made a circuit where you can switch between wigwag or both)

  • I saw that thing and it looks awsome and HUGE.

  • such nice colours
