  • You can download it with the dvdvideosoft program, it converts it to an mp3 file, I'm not affiliated with the company, but I use the program frequently

  • i no kealiis mom i go to church with her

  • This brotha is magical. Very few people can put the soul of a people and culture in their music. His music represents the spirit of Aloha. You have to live in Hawaii (not tourist) to truly understand and feel the music. Although not a true Hawaiian (mainland import), I have learned to love and respect the land, the people, and meaning of Aloha.

  • There is no higher truth.

  • I love this song and I love Kealii reichiel's songs!

  • This song brings me so much peace!

    I love it...

  • really all of his albums are up on itunes

  • Mahalo Keali'l ,,,I love this song

  • The best, I love it, thank

  • If you click on "more info" written in blue at the right of the webpage for the song, it will expand and give you the words in Hawaiian first, then lower down it gives the English translation.

  • wow not jus only the song is good but the floor dancing is jus awesome, kealiis concerts are jus awesome about hawaiian culture :)

  • THIS SONG IS BEAUITFUL

  • To the fuck head 'chekmebaby' get the fuck off here then! Why is your closed minded ass watching this beautiful song if your saying "2 bad he ghey"? Dumb fucking breeders

  • damn where is the repeat button on youtube :/

  • Have no clue what he is singing, but damn it still puts me in a nice calm state, even got a sort of sad feel from it dont know why.

Nice video u posted and what a nice sounding artist.

  • thank you for posting this vid!!

  • I have so many memories with this song.

  • 2 bad he ghey

  • What does that have to do with anything you illiterate douche bag.

  • yes, that really detracts from his music, as evidenced by his record sales and fame.... fool.

  • *sigh*

This song always makes me miss Hawaii more than ever.

My parents met Keali'i when we lived out there. They said he was a really nice guy <3

  • He married my grandma's sister cousins until they divorced. My family is from Lihue, Kauai. I never got to really meet him cause I was just a little boy but, I do remember seeing him at some of our big family get together BBQ's.

  • Soooooooooo beautiful to watch and listen to...

I am sorry but what does Maunaleo mean and where can I buy this song? Thank you!

  • please read the description of the video on the right side of this page. ;o)

  • 'Na' is attached to words to make them plural, such as 'Na Wahine', meaning women, where as Wahine means woman. Not "the". Mele means happy or good, not songs.

  • Comment removed

  • well 'oli is usually used for happy n joy, and mele does mean song "kona mele=his song"

  • I love his voice

  • I love his voice,I love the dance, I love the song...Beautiful!

  • Na = the

    mele = songs

  • Keali'i has a soothing voice!

  • The great thing is: Although I don't speak the language, I somehow understood the meaning of the song...I suspected that it was some sort of description of "Maunaleo", I had the feeling to hear the wind speaking...and then I looked up the translation and was totally happy that I was right. The motions and the music is speaking to one more than any words could.

  • his halau was great this year at merrie monarch 2009!!! i live right up the road from the tennis stadium, and i could hear it and it brought me to tears...

  • i know! his halau was awesome! i love dis song of keali'i reichels though. when I see my kumu dasnce it i just cry. its beautiful

  • The spirit of aloha is shared in Savasana during the close of yoga practice at UC Berkeley in my vinyasa classes. Indeed, the presence of the breath---connecting mind, body and spirit.

  • I love this song! Keali`i Reichell has been my favorite hawaiian singer since I was a young boy. His mele always brings me back to reminiscing of my childhood in the beautiful islands of Hawai`i. I mua Hawai`i.

  • Absolutly Wonderful.......!

    Aloha

    Anja

  • Keali'i Reichel's beautiful songs in the Hawaiian language are so expressive of the culture and values of the people. I visited 4 Hawaiian islands in August/2008. The best part of the vacation was seeing the picturesque islands, hearing firsthand of the Hawaiian history and experiencing Hawaiian culture. The OHANA values of the people are the BEST! Best of luck to you, cousins, from a high school teacher in Texas. Mahalo por todo.

  • he's not lypsyncing he's really singing and how do i noe dat because he's mai uncle dee-dee-dee

  • well... your right... hes not lypsinching... but this isnt the performance for this song... watch his lips and listen to the words hes singing when his lips arent even moving... and they are dancing the motions of the meledy...where theres no words....the video and song are not one in the same...

  • it's just a postsynchro pb! the diretor of this video did not synch what he filmed with sound track recorded. He mixed various images from all cameras in one videos. So some synchro pbs apeared obviously. It's just technical pb not artistic one. Kealii is one of the best singers of Hawaii nei. Mahalo nui Kealii

  • Aloha teriimataha. What he teaches goes beyond this world. His mele is to enjoy. The passion of him being a kumu hula shows every where he goes (worldwide). For those who don't appreciate. Aloha e', Aloha no

  • I'M UPSET HE'S LIPSYNCING

  • Yeah, me too. It's sad. He some people say he's not but he totally is. I've played this video at the same time as the song on the CD and it's exactly the same. Unless the maker of this video synced the audio version on top of this video. But yeah, great song :)

  • GREGOR....WHY do you think Keali'i would be wearing a "head mike" to lipsync?? He has the voice the talent, no need to lipsync!

  • ummm ... because he wants it to look like hes not? well i know he isnt ... but that could be a reason =)

  • he isn't lipsyncing. the guy that made this used another song over this performance he was singing kawaipunahele when he was doing this.

  • Aloha, He has a DVD "Kukahi in Concert" out. It is a must to have it. This song is also on it. Plus, you get to see his mother performing. Take care and Aloha no'.

  • Living in Canada and watching Keali'i sing this song and other songs from him on youtube makes me homesick and realize what I miss about home. Family, Friends, Hawaiian Music, Plate lunches from Zippy's, Graces, Rainbows, and not to forget the BEACHES and having BBQS on them. All in all, makes me appreciate where I came from and Proud to be called HAWAIIAN.

  • Keali`i is a gift.

His spirit soars. I am proud to be Hawaiian.

I am grateful to call him O`hana; my family.

  • They played a new recording of "Maunaleo" on the Hawaiian Airlines flight back to Seattle recently. I teared up right away and couldn't believe how much I already missed Hawaii (Maui). I visited a heiau in the Wailuku area my last day and strive to honor and respect people and place wherever I go so the song is especially touching to me. I still tear up and smile wide every time I hear it.

  • my favorite hawaiian song artist

  • this man was beautiful at the EQC, couple years back. never forget where you come from.

  • This song is so moving, gentle, beautiful, so Hawai'i....it gives me a bad case of "I can't wait to get back"!

  • this this sing was written for his grandmother and he compares her to a moutain peak on the Valley Isle. thats what he is reffering to.

  • UUUUUUUUU es super bueno el video

  • This song has special meaning to us. The Pastor's children did the hula at our wedding in Maui to this song, we both cried, the Holy Spirit was there.

  • Love it! One of the songs I had played at my wedding on Maui, Covered by Jamie Lawrence.

  • I found this guy by accident a few days ago. i was hoping there was some video on him...thank you! He has such a pure voice! he sings another one called Malie's Song...it is even prettier.

  • Hey blueskies, check out Kukahi at amazon for a real treat. I got it about a month ago. Fabulous visit with the Kahuna and his friends.

  • I LOVE HIS VOICE!!!!!! -SIGHS-

  • beautiful

  • Wow..what an amazing song and dancers. They move so gracefully like an ocean on a white beach on a calm summer day..

  • Keali'i is a wonderful singer & Kumu. Whenever, I can have a chance to watch Bernard's group perform with Keali'i it's always a pleasure. You can hear the emotion and see the mana through the dance.

  • I feel so fortunate to have discovered Keali'i back in 1985. My wife and I luckily bought a photograph of him back then by now famous, Jay Braun. It is numbered 1 (as in the first one bought) and has been with us ever since. Eight years after that first fateful trip to Maui we moved there and stayed for as long as we could. In Virginia we listen to him and other Hawaiians to keep our sanity. It's great to see his music continues to spread aloha worldwide. Aloha

  • thank you for singing this song.its the most heart warming song ever.

  • this song is one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard in my life.

  • esta bonito el video aunq me gustaria saber la letra en español y por cierto

!!! ya deja de verlo MONCHIS te vas a traumar jejejeje bye :)

  • Today in my dance class we were taught how to dance to this song and the woman who taught us told us to close our eyes and picture the person that represents the love and inspirtation we need in our lifes and i pictured my fiance who has been apart from me a long time now. I cried as watched and felt my body move to the music. I really love this song and the dance is just as beautiful! If you have truly loved anyone in your life this song should represent the feelings you have for that person.

  • I'd never felt peace for such a long time... till now............

  • he has such an amazing voice and his dancers too...by the way love this song

  • I lived on Oahu back in the 80's for 2 years and have missed the Islands. Went back and worked on a ranch near Wai'anae for about 4 weeks when I was 16. I have introduced my kids to Brotha Iz and Hula which we watch on youtube... Where can I find this DVD Album? I mean I live in Alabama, not so much Hawaiian music avail. Thanks.

  • Aloha, Stanky. Just google his name or hawaiian music. Good luck.

  • His main hula dancer is the mom of one of my classmates from Waihe'e Elementary School on Maui.

  • Not to be boastful, but him and my mom were pals growing up, and both went to the same high school. Once in a while I'll see him when he is not busy.

  • Your welcome Danae53. Sorry, for the late response. He will be doing a Christmas concert with other Hawaiian artist that I will attend. I will keep you post if anything comes up. Aloha no

  • If you love this song. His new DVD "Kukahi

Live in concert is out. It's great. This song is also on it. And you get to see his mother perform.
