  • Ok.. relax. This is a very good song, oh but one dont need it repeadet immidiatley, In the contreyary one maybe hear eere thire month!

  • jesus christ, dan bejar is too amazing.

saw Destroyer at Pitchfork last weekend and man.... and they're now easily making the cut into my top 3 bands. : )

  • great song

  • i hate these kind of videos, where you just take parts of the lyrics and make a google images slideshow out of it.so lame.

  • I've got it! This song is about a boxer!

  • This guy sucks. Pitchfork sucks. All hipsters suck. I used to be a hipster but now there are too many wannabees out there trying to find bad music. I'm gonna go jump off a bridge before someone makes that popular too

  • @alfredandalfredo you should have been a hipster but now you are a troll.

  • @bezwaarlijketruffel u shouldnt troll trolls, its bad for u.

  • @alfredandalfredo i dont know or care if this is hip, i just like the song.

  • 00:53 is nasty thumps up if you agree

  • @noopertruman It's not nasty, its's a nice big clock cock :D

  • my guess as to the artist's name choice?.......He probably would like to break through and forge new ground as an artist in his musical offerings (as most artist dream of doing), thereby "destroying" the past. That's how I see it anyway, and I'm sticking to it ;-)......I also think of the 1976 KISS album of the same name, but that just me ;-)

  • awesome, so romantic :))

  • Portsmouth Guildhall at 1:29 if i'm not mistaken.

  • Love this song!! Only stumbled upon it through a Band Of Horses playlist on here so I'm new to the band. Why is there such a debate on the bands name, how significant is this??? Lyrics and melodies are the two most important things in songwriting(unless the music is wordless), and i would love this song just as much if the band was called Spice Girls!!

  • @uberdingdong I would love the song just as much if it was called "Spice Girls" too... I just wouldn't be willing to admit it to my friends. :D

  • The band name is often just something that looks cool. it means nothing to the music, the lyrics do because they play with the music, the band name can just be smart og cheesy. And another thing, Portastatic made an amazing cover of this song, can't stop listening to it.

  • ti malakia gia pazaria na;pas

  • Que soye de Tema .... Esta Brutallllllllll Saludos XD.. LOL... Buahahahjajajjajajaja

  • Que buena rola!!!! No he parado de escucharla.

  • you type long comments...

  • Your comment is absurd.

I actually do not state that the band name solely directs the music. If you read my comment I say that the title, the name, the lyrics, the melodies, the composition is all a part of a greater product.

I also think it is pure cowardice of you to rate my comment down because you aren't mature enough to understand. Dan's music means a lot to me. You've got hatred in your veins so all you read is a reflection of yourself.

I am not on the level of a true fan? Haha, okay.

  • @LogInAnders is that what your therapist told you to say

  • To join in the discussion. I love the music but yes, the band name seems a bit off in my eyes. Lyrically and thematically I see poetic self-destruction/artistic self-infliction rather than "destroyer" where the subject destroys his/her surroundings but keeps their ego intact.

    Just my opinion.

The bandname matters as much as the song title, the lyrics or the melodies. It's all a part of a greater product. But the name doesn't hinder me in diving into the records with great enjoyment!

  • no offence to those who cant spell...."TheEffects"....."no offebse to those who like this band", but atleast Destroyer can spell the word offence

A band's name doesnt determine the style they play dipshit

  • umm

    this isnt pussy music...

anyways i seriously doubt that you could make anything this cool/good

  • This song is so amazing. So emotional. I love it. I hope this appears in an indie film sometime soon!

  • It's a bit of an odd juxtaposition, the word Destroyer combined with (depending on the song) soothing music. However, lyrically and thematically, Destroyer tends to fit quite nicely with Dan Bejar's songs.

  • No offense to those that like this "pussy" music? Listen to it man, really.

  • why does it even matter what the band is named? hahaa the music a band makes is the whole point of any band

  • Amazing record.

  • lol, AGREED!

  • clap!clap!clap! In a strange way, there's something of Pavement and Bob Dylan in his songs.

It's recent to me... I'm floating

  • loooooove!!! masterpiece just like rubies was... yeah, libbys first sunrise someone

  • luv destroyr... first comment!!
