  • HIS FACE! GODAMIT

  • I think this is a high-green belt technique...

  • I did this while sparring, knocked the guy right on his ass

  • why do i lose balance when i try this kick ? :/

  • @NovakGoran My instructor tells this: Initiate the kick as you would a reverse-side kick, but throw the side-kick at a 45 degree angle, then bring your leg around as you complete the spin. It's important to pivot and treat it as less of a swing and more as a snap, once you've gotten to the position. That's my two cents and I use it fairly effectively. It's also a good defensive strike if one is skipping backwards, if you can achieve a rear-step during the spin.

  • @NovakGoran make sure you keep your hands up like your ready to fight. i hope it helped

  • @NovakGoran because you are overweight

  • @fightlife22 please... i have almost 3 years of muay thai... im not being a douche or anything but im in great shape.. ( six pack, strength, agility..). But i guess i just need to practice more..

  • @NovakGoran

    You're not practicing enough

  • i once did this to a guy.. he flied a meter

  • @superarmands flew*

  • what are good stretches so you don't pull any muscles?

  • @runeman180 Stretch your hamstrings, backs of the thighs and loosen your hips and you should be good to go!

  • do i have to be flexible to perform this kick?

  • @theali9612 Yes! The more flexible you are, the easier it's gonna be to perform the kick!

  • Perfect

  • I seriously want to perfect this move! :)

  • I can't seem to get my leg up high enough to kick someones head, I feel like I'm spinning wrong and there's no force for my leg to go up higher... Any tips or suggestions? Please and thanks!

  • @RossTheMFBoss Is it a flexibility issue?

  • @RossTheMFBoss Try practising the spin without the kick, really throw yourself round for momentum but chamber your leg in a side kick position. Once you're comfortable with the spin, relax and throw your leg out.

If you're not flexible in the hip though you might struggle with this kick no matter what.

  • @RossTheMFBoss did you find the answear? i also got the same problem haha

  • um ya im 14 and not flexible...i can get my foot prob at the pec are of a 5"10ish area.. any tips to help me get flexible? post as @ thx

  • I hate it when people diss taekwondo and say the kicks are flashy and ineffective, but i mean look at the spinning hook kick, it looks cool and has true knockout power at the same time. for example esn barboza used it in ufc recently

  • @kwonkicker Sometimes when I execute this kick, I slip and fall. I once broke by toes the same way. Any tips on pivoting so that I don't fall down?

  • Would this work with a heavy, stand bag or a reflex bag? I have both but I don't wanna like shatter my foot on the heavy.

  • @deathman191 I wouldnt recomend it aha

  • Holy Shit.. Im 14 and 1.65cm big and i can kick 1.90 high with sidekicks and frontkicks. But i have a problem to kick high with the spinning hook kick! Someone got a tipp? Thanks post as @

  • @look4skatevids As you bring your kicking leg around for the kick, you can often get more height by leaning your upper body back. You then bring your body upright again as you bring the kicking leg back down to the ground afterwards.

  • damn, u r cool

  • 63 people know they can never achieve this lol

  • @vxphsycoxv Make that 66

  • Omg... poor dummy. You are brutal, dude.

  • what do i do, when my opponent has arms?

  • @MinaSiinRuTs you watch out for his arms?

  • @MinaSiinRuTs Low kick, then after your opponent loses some balance, do the kick.

  • This reminds me of a Spin round house kick.... is it the same just under a different name??

  • instant ko

  • I just watched a video of 2 ppl fighting.. 1 guy used this kick and almost killed the other guy.. This really can kill some1 if ur kick is strong enough

  • cool dude as usual! :D

  • 2 points!

  • ohk thanks (:

  • @TechnoForever1324 u don't need to use the hook kick there are many more

  • i do tkd and im blue belt 1 and still havent mastered this kick wat do i do ): and im worried coz i got tournament coming up soon ): help

  • @TechnoForever1324 Just master the continuous side kick for maximum points and an axe kick when close. Follow both with a blitz.. if its pumas on 27th, good luck

  • im kinda mastering it better and better, i kick higher and faster and stronger however at one part of this kick i touch the ground with my hands, is it bad?

  • @MrEran1996 imo, you should maintain stabilty throughout the whole kick, because that makes it easier to follow it up with other attacks (round kick variations for example). also, when you get used to touching the ground/leaning your upper body that far down, you will have problems with variations like the jumping version, cause you wont land properly.

  • @333metalfan well i started touching the ground like once a... i understood my spin was too slow, and im also more used to the kick and im more stable and stuff and i think its quite strong however im not sure it can actually hit the head, maybe chin sometimes.

i filmed myself through my phone cam and i see that most of the time its gonna go very close to the chin, and more of a body kick.

is this kind of kick must hit the head?

  • @MrEran1996 you definitelly need to hit the head, it might do damage to the body but leaves you in a very unstable position, if you want a spin kick to the body do the normal spinning back kick(kwon has a tutorial aswell). the way i learned and am still learning it, just start doing it slow and without much power, but with your technique as perfect as possible (maybe your instructor can hold your leg up so you also learn to stretch it more). how long have you been practicing, and do you do tkd?

  • @333metalfan yea your right.

im gonna start to do few different stretches.

    no instructor no tkd.

    just youtube.

im trying to see how good can someone be in mma if hes flexible and good balance.

btw now i dont touch the ground at all i understand the way i need to kick.

  • @MrEran1996 stretching = most important thing for kicking ever. just dont do to much when your starting, you can fuck up your leg for a while.

if its possible for you, start doing some kind of martial art in a good club, not even necessarily tkd, maybe karate, kickboxing, muay thai etc.

guessing from your nickname, your about 14-15, and if you want to get flexible, now is the best time to lay a good basis for this, cause when you start later, your tendons arent able to adjust as much.

  • @333metalfan actually about stretching and flexibility, i started long time ago.

if i just regularly front kick, i can get seriously high so im also able to do the axe kick.

i have tons of school so not sure i can find time for actually signing to a martial arts club.

ive tried setting something i can kick which is about the height of someones chin, and i sometimes can kick someones chin if he is the same height like i am.

  • @MrEran1996 your flexibility sounds like me 6 months ago :D

do stretching for your hip, thats the most important thing for the round/ roundhouse kick and the kicks based upon them. look up kwons tutorials, i hink he has some for stretching too (unless you live in germany, for me its blocked :P)

  • @333metalfan just recently started to do some hip stretching.

    i feel the huge improvement.

no training today because the second i woke up my left leg kinda hurt when i line it up like im gonna do some stretching.

i have 6 *BLESSED* days with no tests and after that a very easy test!

btw i did it all wrong, i first spin, look, only then launch the kick.

i tried to do it until now without looking and fully turning first and launch the kick earlier, which makes my upper body to go too much down

  • @333metalfan and my kick wasnt even higher.

it makes sense my left leg hurts because these kind of kicks are based on your supporting leg's flexibility.

do you do tkd or any martial arts?

  • @MrEran1996 i do tkd, im only a yellow belt though, but im better than most people in my group(also green belts)

you really learn fast imo, and when youre starting, you feel your flexibility getting better every day.

its totally normal your left leg hurts, i fucked up my right leg so i could do all roundkick-based kicks with it, but none like frontkick, which i could only do with my left one, so right now, i have a vicious axekick and good body kicks on my left, and perfect highkicks on the right

  • @333metalfan today my left leg hurts much less.

    its the muscles.

tomorrow or day after tomorrow im not gonna immediately start kicking, first im gonna do those lower body strength drills and different kinds of stretches for kicks for like a week and then bang.

anyways im basically keep getting more flexible and stronger until i have time to join tkd (probably in the summer).

how much time did it took you to get yellow belt?

  • @MrEran1996 about half a year, because i couldnt always go training at first, but it doesnt take too long

  • I;ve always wondered is it possible to do the classic spinning heel/hook kick counter in an kickbox match? Im rolling intto kickboxing like in a week from TKD and always wondered if it is possible? like when he tries to high kick you do the spinning because it should be possible but never ever saw someone do a counter like that?

  • @bogasni it is possible... if u are fast enough that it btw there are people did that be4 too i.e: ehsan shafiq

  • @DuressRap tell that to the russians

  • @arkonastriborg123 what you mean bitch?

  • @Kvochet russian bullies punk one legged girl

  • I have severe flat feet and my feet roll inward. I have to wear shoes and orthopedics for support. Could I still learn how to do spin kicks?

  • my master told me to do alot of these until you get the hang of it.. now i just stand by the target like that one and just do that all day.... so when i enter tournaments for sparring its my first move and i knocked out 5 people so far.... it so fun knocking people out!!!! :) i LOVE TAEKWONDO

  • i just KO'd a guy with this kick :)

  • why 2 tutorials on it?

  • i can do that

  • Shiro-Maw-Ashi in Karate term for this kick ;),nicely done tut

  • @Metalmudo isn't that ushiro?

  • @Metalmudo shiro in jap means white, ushiro means back mawashi means turn so ushiro mawashi means turn back

geri means kick so the proper name is ushiro mawashi geri. Or at least this is how i learned it

  • @miricavlad Yea,i learn it liko Shiro Mawashi O.o,well at least maybe my sensei likes to use short terms :P xD.But this is the same thing...

  • @Stoja987 streeetch. :)

  • my moms boyfriend got fresh with me today, thanks to kwonkicker, that mafucka gon get his checked tommorrow

  • hmmm... just wondering but is it normal for the foot that is pivoting to move a little?

  • @stevieakawonder he was kicking a B.O.B look in the description to see what that means.

  • instant KO

  • emm what was dat thing he was kicking

  • @CeeRaali Thank you, thank you very much

  • Great form!

  • Awesome kicks!

  • when ever i do it i get dizzy :/

  • guys everyone who likes martial arts should check out this channel: Flying uwe

  • the way i learned it was stepping forward first (whichever foot is in front is the one hooking). in fact it was a board break and i shattered the damned thing.

  • nice tut, great angles

  • these realy help me

  • i've really been trying to do this for a while now. i have very bad, in-effective ways of doing it because i broke my leg when i was younger and was never able to get very flexible with my left leg since then. so, im guessing a big secret in doing this kick correctly requires flexibility. if anyone wants to prove me wrong, i encourage it xD i'd like to learn this kick.

  • @CrawlerClanMMA

    Hey buddy, It's all practice.

I have deplorable flexibility, My best of three tries was negative 22 for a highschool standardized flexibility test when an F was negative 5. My teacher was struck awe, yet I can perform a hook kick with ease.

Keep practicing and you'll be able to do it.

All the best of luck buddy.

  • love love love. i'm trying to learn this

  • Comment removed

  • thats te first kick i learned in from my taekwondo trainer ... memories

  • if I can't kick that high i could jump, but would that make the damage a little less?

  • @henrylee0123 In my opinion I would say yes at first. When you get the hang of the jumping kick and are comfortable with it, you should be fine. When you add a jump to a strike, it makes the attack more kinetic in my experience it.

  • @henrylee0123

True it would, it is advisable to perform the kick whilst on ground, yet if it connects, it'll still be quite a force.

  • Very nice kick sir..I think if it was on an actual opponent you would of torn his head clean off...

  • How many people have you killed?

  • @h8urdad loooooooooooooooool

  • @h8urdad dude,maybe around 100 only... ^_^

  • @xtinaschampion : there are many of us who are from countries where such training is not available but required the most

  • mondoljo

  • mondoleo xD

  • how can i gain speed on my kicks and make them stronger??????? anyone?

  • when i try doing these, it always feel like they are so weak and slow

  • niiiiiiiiiiice dude !

  • 1:58 you can actually see the pain on his face XD

  • one hit and all your fuckin bones in your fuckin face are broken haha

  • @MrNilsAGuitar show off :P

  • Okay i do Teakwon-Do since 9 Years xD

  • Thats EASY my friend^^

  • uhm 0.0

  • why do you make everything look so simple!!!!!!

  • @spideygod3122 He's just that good.

  • thank you, your the only one that actually taught me to do it XP

  • That looks awesome! I can't imagine the amount of energy that kick would make a face absorb if it connected good >Ouch!<

  • i broke my lamp...

  • @iPipzZ ahahhahhhaaha

  • Nice kick, good height power and technique. Little off-balance afterwards but that's very difficult to avoid unless you execute the technique perfectly. Good video. =)

  • pretty impressive

  • spinning yeah go for it. ill give you a left left right crosss combination before you move. a boxer would kill this fool

  • @iwnnugget501

A spinning kick is rarely the first move, it is usually employed after your opponent has been stunned/dazed/distracted. So if you were in a position to do a straightforward punching combination like you described, he would not be likely to use this, preffering a faster technique such as a snap front kick or jab.

  • @Restayvien fair enough. just a flamboyant finishing move then.

  • @iwnnugget501

Pretty much. It's also used in WTF-style sparring where hands can't be used (don't know much about that, I do ITF where hand techniques are allowed).

  • Edson Barbosa

  • Can you show an example of a left spinning hook hick from a south paw stance? Because I got it perfect with the right but the left one seems imbalanced. Thanks!

  • @tipman444 I think that I would be totally the same technique only done in the other direction...It may feel like you're doing it wrong, but with little practice it should be all gone.good luck

  • @dillaOne It's funny because I did practice. And 10 minutes later I had it down great.

  • Beautiful kick!

  • shouldn't pause after the kick return foot asap to counter their counter if you miss

  • Thanks for this!!! XD

  • Yeah, actually. I'm going to subscribe to your channel based on this video alone. Straight forward explanations and demonstrations win me over pretty readily. Thanks for the video.

  • im just gonna have you do this kick to me when i want to go to sleep :)

  • Wow its so hard to keep ur balance on this kick

  • after seein kwonkicker instrucional videos i no longer look any further when i need help on my kicks

  • What kind of person asks questions when they already know the answer?

  • That is so beautiful. I bet demonstrating that kick on a late night out can get you laid!

  • how in the heck does he do it so pristine...?

  • @intactGB

    Core muscle strength training, stretching/conditioning

  • @Spookimitsu

    -_-

I was jus complementing the form on his kick, not actually asking a question...

duh, the only way u can mke any attack look so good is with practice

  • n#ice

  • nicceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • thumbs up, if he looks like the guy from fightclub movie

  • @kwonkicker Yeah, and I always have the issue of going up on the balls of my feet like a ballerina or something......

  • man i wanna fight you

  • Which part of the foot do u kick with? and doesnt that hurt?

  • That is some scary shit

  • @BlueMageWithSoulEdge. Hahaha there's technically nothing wrong with it. I do it and for most people it's natural to spin on your heel towards the end of the kick. I dont know why my friend says not to do it, cuz it feels unnatural for me to stay on the ball of my foot throughout the ENTIRE kick. I, for one, like spinning on my heel. :)

  • @backkick320 whats wrong with spinning on the heel? I thought that's how you do it.

  • i knew this naturally before muay thai and mma classes

  • so fucking awesome :D Loved it!

  • ponad 50 osób dostało wp***l ;)

  • Have you noticed that you look pretty much like Micah Brock...?

  • @kwonkicker

yeap, ur right haha! thanks for the tutorial, its great by the way =)

i have a question though, how do i get this kick good enough to actually efficiently use it in sparring? i've been trying and practicing, but once i try it in sparring it just doesnt work...

  • looks great, not everybody can do it so natural( and make it look so easy) good job

  • @kwonkicker - sir, is there a difference between a turning long kick and a spinning hook kick?

  • OMG THAT LOOKED AWESOME WHEN U DID IT! OMFG! (i never have seen that lolol)

  • bring my knee up (not frontal, but the same as the beginning of a round house when you bring the knee up that way before the kick snaps out) and then I extend the leg and hook it, while keeping the knee slightly higher than it is when you do a back-hook kick...back...side kick. Very good timing, speed, precision, and technique. Your way of the hook kick warrants a lot more power because there is so much hip involved.

  • @kwonkicker I believe that it would be anatomically more natural to finish with spinning on the heel as your body's axis of rotation is already angled away from the object you strike, correct? The way you do it really makes a whole lot of sense in physics. I'm working on this exact thing in Tang Soo Do, and after having had a total ankle reconstruction, I have to find slight modifications to my techniques to avoid torquing the joint yet make it effective. I love watching you!

  • @kwonkicker Hahaha, thanks man. I've been doing it exactly the way you do it my entire life, and it's worked well for me, but I just thought it was interesting that we shift our weight the same way, so I thought I'd make a point to say hello. I haven't changed my kick because of what he says, but yeah. In any case, have a good one and keep up the good work!

  • @castor3535 How?

  • Nice kick dude, props

  • can u do it with ur left?

  • I have been prcticing that kick alot lately

  • doesn't look leathal at all, would just break ur neck or hit ur temple -.-

  • @AlphaxDelitE You do know that breaking a neck can be lethal..

  • @MrLOKILLO15 nooo... breaking the neck isnt lethal... but if the nerves get damaged...

  • @winky7575 Yes it is lethal.

  • @MrLOKILLO15 if the nerves get damaged...

  • @MrLOKILLO15 it's called IRONI, heard about it? ;)
