This song is not about the guy cheating, but a fool's pure love. A fool who only has love for her/his lover and forgives every time that lover hurts her/him, regardless of the reason. The fool believes that there will be a reward for giving her/his all, ironically, the only reward for doing so is being called a fool. Which brings out the saddest part of the song.
