I'll miss woolworths, and being able to ocationally walk past and call it something slightly different when a light went out on one of the letters from time to time. Quite oftern it was funny, and it was fun to do. Now it's going to be Iceland. I'm not too miffed by that, cause i like iceland.

i loved woolies because when i went down the high street with my mum. we used to always go in there. plus i was going to get my nintendo ds lite there, but now i can. i wish someone had the money, so they could buy it and it would still be here.

It's no better here in the US... our Woolworths all shut down in 1997 and Wal-Mart has taken over: Wal-Mart, Wal-Mart Supercenter, Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market, Sam's Club (a Wal-Mart owned business). The closest we have to Woolies is Target, and that is a stretch at best. Instead of Wooly and Worth, we have Bullseye the Target Dog.

Two Woolworths in Milton Keynes... city centre one closes January 2nd, Newport Pagnell on January 5th. I'm gonna try and be at both on those days. It's very saddening. I hope Zavvi doesn't go the same way.
