  • Is he using the 85mm 1.2L for this shoot?

  • i would have well chucked her my keys or something haha :P

  • Whats that in the front of the objective on the camera called? Please (!) help (:

  • @xRideOnTheSkyx Filter holder adapter

  • whats the meaning of a strobist photographer?

  • Awesome Photography!!!

  • Just curious, what would the shot have looked like if the umbrella flash wasn't on? Was it that crucial to the shot? Thanks!

  • @domainphotography I guess it's just a minor fill-light. So the shadows on her right side doesn't get too sharp by the other flash. But I'm just guessing as I haven't really started with that yet :p

  • AMAZING VIDEO I WAS WONDERING WHAT SIZE BEAUTY DISH DID YOU USE ON THIS AMAZING SHOOT

  • Love your stuff

Your videos are so interesting and helpful!

  • Great video, wished I would have seen this a few years ago.

  • @wallcrawler78 Did you get a response on the boom setup? Anybody else know what he's using here? Guesses? I am looking for a good set up. May go with a Matthews C-stand, baby boom and attach wheels, if it's sturdy enough. Thoughts?

  • Amazing shots. Great video. You're a real fun character, I can see how Steph felt comfortable shooting with you.

  • Your really greaat communication and the photos im impressed

  • only if i could make every girl open their legs "min 6:12" at my cmd !!!! Kalr Taylor you Sir and a True Legend !!!

  • you always drop or lose your filters lol i think im going to be that Ninja that creeps up and waits till you drop it lol !!!

  • I'm fairly certain that she takes all of her vitamins...

  • why didn't he increase the shutter speed instead of an ND filter to reduce the amount of light from coming in to the camera?

  • @khashy87 I the ND filter give the sky a deeper color and more saturated color for the flower and grass.

  • @TheSushiAssassin Wrong! The ND filter only cuts the amount of light. He's using it to be able to SYNC his flash.

  • @khashy87 I think he says to maintain the sync speed with the flashes. Since he's shooting it at a wide aperture for the shallow depth of field, he needs to keep the shutter speed below a certain speed (i think 1/160 s for canon) to expose the entire frame properly with the flash.

  • @khashy87 due the the sync speed of the strobes. u can increase the shutter speed if you are not using the strobes.

You can google for more info in strobes sync speed.

  • @khashy87 Hes using a flash....

  • @khashy87 Hes using a strobist...

  • @khashy87 you cannot reduce ambient light with shutter speed if you are using a flash/strobe, only with aperture and ISO.

  • @khashy87 because the fastest possible flash sync is ~1/200 to 1/320 (depending on camera model) with those type of flashes. your only chance to shoot with open apertures in bright light is therefore using ND filters.

  • they photoshopped her tattoos out :O btw great video

  • Does anybody Know What Type Of Wireless Is He Using? Please LMK!

  • What Boom are you using? I have that same setup on order... but am scratchin my head trying to find a decent boom. Any help much appreciated.

    Great video! Very inspiring!

  • Genius.

  • What kind of boom is that you are using? Its really hard to look online for a good Boom and feel comfortable that it is not a total peace of crap... I love your setup. Are you happy with it and would you recommend it?

  • Dislikers are being jealous of this camera :D

  • bahahahaha now tell me how the heck you got service way out there! I can't get squat hardly here if i was standing right next to the tower!! haha

  • get Karl's DVD's the extra videos you get on his website are just brilliant, thanks Karl for the insparation, cant say enough good words about you

  • cant believe you call this a job. i would shoot hot woman all day.

  • i got a boner

  • Hello.

I have subscribed to your free video training course.

I was wondering, where did you buy that lovely blue neck strap?

I have looked for those sort of elastic ones with clips, so that I can have it removed when using a tripode but can't seem to find them.

    Any help well apreciated.

Was mentioning the one from your 840 photos.

You have great videos by the way.

  • You and your filter dropping antics, I cant afford them and you keep dropping them priceless lol - thanks for the video, always look forward to them!

  • @offspringy why didn't he increase the shutter speed instead of an ND filter to reduce the amount of light from coming in to the camera?

  • If you're ever in Cornwall again Karl and need a general dogs body, give me a call lol. Love your work. Chris - One Click Photography :D

  • Fantastic video help amateurs let me to see how things are done

  • awesome... thanks for all the great videos.

  • Home run man!!

  • very nice images. great shoot!

  • awesome photos!

    love the location!

  • I dig your patients man, working with models is a lot harder then people think. Most aren't experienced and those that are most often aren't aware of their posture or limitations. This young lady did well, it was however obvious she was either very nervous or just a bit nervous and inexperienced. Either way you and your crew and the young lady did a nice job. Thanks, nice tips. I enjoy watching others work. One can get new fresh ideas and share them, KUDOS !

  • "Thank you for your order.

I really appreciate your business and hope you enjoy every minute of the photography training when it arrives. Your order will be processed ASAP."

    Thanks Karl!

  • Thank you for posting this video. I'm an amateur photographer and have recently done a flash photography course so it was really insightful to see how you go about taking photos using your kit. Thank you for explaining your process including using the ND filter to compensate for the shutter speed limit and later on reducing the shutter speed to compensate for ambient light. John also did a great job ;). Will now go and visit your website. Awesome results!!

  • Hi Karl, Thanks for the VDO. I've learned so much from it.

  • Great job here... however, a suggestion, have your assistant, John, fan in shorter passes instead of such large passes and that will blow more air towards the model in stronger gusts. :)

    Great technique and instruction here!

  • Are you using battery packs on your strobes or a generator... What size...? Thanks...
