C#5 Belt: World Class Vocalists

You know what?.......Whitney rocked the C#5 from 1986 to 1992, I liked how she sounded at that point. Anytime after that, she sounded scratchy and eventually strained.

the only world class vocalist who can belt out C5 next to Whitney would be Shirley Bassey. There are also many less known vocalists who happen to have way more powerful middle voices than women in this video

I loved Alicia's tone, timbre and consistency. The richness of her voice moves me, but the technique of Beyonce and Leona really shone through. Mariah had a really nice, rich C#5 too while Michelle had a nice, NATURAL soulful power to her C#5 - unlike Christina who forced her's.

whitney's was quite strained because it's from 2010, beyonce's was ok, christina's was strained as usual, mariah's was lipsynched. i think leona won this.

imo mariah, leona and beyonce won. but if you put mariah's C#5 from thanksgiving special in the make it happen performance, and 1 of whitney's C#5's in her prime they would both win no doubt!

Skill and wise I think Mariah wins the cause she can make her belts sweet, she can make it powerful, sometimes both, power wise Whitney and Christina wins, Control wise Mariah, Whitney, Alicia and Christina..

Hard to compare as the qualities of some notes are not that great.

I suggest to do a video of C5's as that is a more common note found amongst these singers, hence it would be easier to find better audio quality videos.

@jm423 Quality as in the audio quality of the sound clips. For example, Whitney and Alicia's C#5's audio quality is not as good as Beyonce's.
