I spray my barrel down with Gunzilla and run a patch through it at the beginning of cleaning and set it aside and let it do its magic. Afterwards spray it again and wipe down and run brushes and patches through until clean. The more you use this stuff the easier your barrel will clean up over time.
You don't have to worry about a special cleaner before gunzilla. Just use it instead after you've fired the gun. It will clean everything off and be ready to go. Yes, use the bore brush only in the direction the bullet travels. I've seen people use nylon brushes both ways, and that might be ok...But I've found that a bronze brush one way does a better job anyway. Between that and gunzilla it leaves the bore a mirror finish.
Since that worked maybe I'll do smaller answers for you. The gunzilla smells like no other gun cleaner I've tried. It doesn't stink up the whole room like Hoppe's or some other cleaners. It does have a distinct smell that's hard to describe, but I haven't found anyone that doesn't mind it yet.
Great video ! I knew about the Q tips but the credit card trick was very helpful. How does the Gunzilla smell? The Balistol some people love it and others hate it. Where is the best place to buy Gunzilla. If Iuse Gunzilla for the first time and I have been using Mil Tec and Hoppe's Elite and Prolix should I clean the gun with non chlorinated brake fluid to get off the other cleaner residue? Should I use the bore brush in only one direction? Is it better to slip stream the gun perrmanently.
I swear by Gunzilla! I will never use anything else on my guns! Good Video

I've been using Gunzilla exclusively on all my guns for 2 years and never had an issue.

I haven't used slipstream, nor have I come across anyone who has. Have you heard anything about it?
