this is a very very obvious commerical and I just find it so hard to beleive, not that I don't, that these ppl would put their fucked up view of life out so boldly and then say the whole co2 al gore bullshit, did they bitch about it in the beginning of the commerical, nope, not til the dumbasses are dancing like thats the thing to do and theres a almost toxic look to the aire around where their breathing, hmmm.... like I said, a little obvious, good one media whores
AREVA makes a great point here. Civilization advances ONLY as availability of energy increases. We need more, or we move backward. But we've lost our way because our appetite for it has become destructive. Nuclear, wind, and solar (together, not at odds with each other) can move us forward. But only if we embrace ALL three and stop pointing out the flaws in one or the other.
Awesome visuals and nice future looking! Addressing CO2 with real science instead of fear mongering and calls for going back to stone age tech is hopeful. 'Funky Town' sound track is...odd....
@ruello Nonsense. Nuclear energy is the far safest viable energy solution in existance. Chernobyl was a RBMK reactor with an inherently flawed design built by bankrupt soviets that cut corners on construction and operated by people chosen on their dedication to the Party rather than merits.
Chernobyl cannot happen again simply because there are no reactors in operation that will respond that way should they loose coolant.
@HB45175 "safest"? safer than solar? the soviets were bankrupt and corrupt, but would you give responsibility of a nuclear plant to someone like.... silvio berlusconi ? (areva and their key account manager sarkozy are already signing contracts)
"viable"? can you explain where and how do you get the uranium? and treat it? can you please explain where and how do you stock the waste? can you please explain how much does it cost to build and run a nuclear plant and manage the waste for eternity? :(
@ruello Solar is not a viable option to replace nuclear, the yield is insufficient and it doesnt work when the sun doesnt shine. Like wind energy it's a good addon but not a primary source of energy. Silvio Berlusconi is not a powerplant manager, I am confident there are qualified italian engineers for that job. The nuclear waste can be reprocessed (like you french already do) until a minimal amount remains, that can then be stored in suitable locations below ground, for example here in Sweden.
2. there certainly are thousands of brilliant engineers in italy (or from italy, 1 here ;-)), but you can be sure they won't get the job; the mafia friends of silvio will
3. how much does the reprocessing, storing, drilling etc. cost?
4. the minimal amount that remains is too much, and too dangerous
5. suitable location? huge risks wherever/however you stock waste (+ transport, and keep track for eternity...)

It's an insulator.

The evolution shown by the film is revealing. Initially, the energy was used to
extract water, to sail, trade (food, exchange), then build
cathedral, etc..
At the end, energy is used for idiots can dance on the roof of an office building next to a fake beach !
