@golddragnet Yes, Kris Tschetter's says in her book, "Mr. Hogan, the Man I Knew," that despite his smaller stature, Mr. Hogan would often win long ball exhibitions held prior to PGA events.
The people who played with him said he hardly ever hit a shot full-out, but that when he really wanted to get after a drive he could hit it a long way, primarily because his contact was so on-center and his plane and path through the ball so good. His best wasn't going to beat out a George Bayer's best, but his best could beat a Bayer if Bayer missed it a little. Hogan didn't miss it.
