  • this is hilariously overdramatic.

  • would love to see the same done with Victoria Pendleton or the women's pursuit squad

  • cool

  • 14 people are couch patatoes

  • brillo31 - you can contact the filmmakers through this website: mabar.co.uk

This is another of their sports related docs which competed at Sundance.

  • brillo31 i dint think was a commercial..... i think it was the whole film.

  • Beautiful film. Does anyone know where we can buy a DVD of this???

  • Awesome!

  • Can anyone link me to the text that is read in the video? Very inspirational.

  • Scary video

  • Craig McLean was by far the BEST sprint cyclist Britain has had, better than Sir Chris Hoy with out question! He was unfortunately a few years early. Awesome!

  • i want to download this?

  • I like how they just flash the podium for a split second, like he won't let himself dwell on it.

  • A great inspiration... so full of good quotes and great shots of our sport... keep up the great work!!!

  • Miki, már megint ezt nézed ???

  • brilliant...

  • only watched half and i love it! best thing i ever seen, will be watching it later =D

  • mega RPMs!

  • @rdmorpheus123 as a cyclist i enjoyed the video. i love watching the dedication someone has for the sport, the suffering they endure and the pride they take in it.

  • woosh

  • @rdmorpheus123 I'm going to assume ya don't play any sports or do a lot of physical activity. The time, focus, energy, tears, dedication, etc. that goes into this type of athleticism is positively staggering. Anyone who's invested a reasonable amount of time in almost any physical pursuit knows what it means to train as hard as any of these high calibre, national and international level athletes train =D

  • Yeah, absolutely not on that level at all.

  • witty comment fail

  • Beastly!

  • The narrative is Aristotle's Nichomachean Ethics, at last in part: excellence is not an act, but a habit.

  • This is what is all about.

    Awesome. Period

  • i love it!

    its borderline homoerotic

  • Why suck a great video with such small amount of views! :(

  • @Dysprosio because its long

  • @htdtr agreed. I could be made shorter! and would still be cool! :)

  • Speechless FUCKING AWESOME!!!

  • that was fuckin badass

  • what is this poem from???? please tell me

  • wow, I really can't say anything else.

  • So great, and yet the narrator didn't scream "EXTREME" once...

  • @criznell LOL

  • gets my heart still running 120bpm after 15min.s

  • No embedding?

  • Why is there not an All Time Favorite option??

    Fucking Amazing!

  • this video is excatly why i cycle. cycling isn't just a sport, but a lifestyle.

  • Finlay, what a great piece!

  • Allow people to embed it! The video is great and should be seeing everywhere!

  • A smidge reminiscent of the Guinness 'White Horses' advert with the style of narration. However, it remains beautifully shot and constructed.

  • What a beautiful and inspiring film. It's great to see cycling viewed in such a sensitive, poetic way. It feels like it's made by people who love the sport and Craig Maclean is an awesome talent. Contemporary sportspeople deservedly get a lot of bad press, but with him, it's totally misdirected- as any cycling fan will attest. I'd watch this over the usual moronic treatment of sports any day of the week. More of the same please!

  • @barefootinpark well said

  • the olympic games..the event of sports where the fastest and strongest and most long-lasting would come to mesure and proove theyre strengths..its the invention of the ancient greeks..the today people adapted it the last time @ the 20 century..would it not be bad to adapt other values of them..but thats only possible if everyone would see the reason to do it..which should be made for the fast-going and fast-living people today in a psychological mixture

(i love it when i talk like uubersmart)

  • I think you've copied that from a book. Ubersmartarse! Ha.

  • do u really think i have copied this from a book, smartarse?..thx for the compliment..i didnt know that i can talk like it would be thought over for several times..just like in a book

  • the utube commenter, the sport of kings, potatoe ice cream eater, stoned infantile, hater, criticall knowlwedge key strokes away,a computer that feels, from alien worlds monitered by the cia,oh ye noble kings of tommorow ;~^

  • so...what does your comment have to do with my comment as a reply...?

  • I would have enjoyed this short film more if I believed that sport was a 'clean' contest. Sorry for the cynicism, but modern sport is de facto chemical warfare, and no hyperbolic lyricism will disguise it..

  • nope you are absolutely right, they use a strictly controlled diet, wear ultra expensice suits and have 2 coatch and a psyciatrist following them. that's the reason why those guys are too big with too much muscles, they smell "chemicals" in every way.

this sport is not "organic" .

  • right, because the noble ancient greeks would literally roll out of bed on the morning of the games, having foregone all forms of training and practice.

  • Are you trying to make a point or is your colon simply blocked?

  • i don't understand what you're asking me. what would a blocked colon have to do with anything?

  • i couldnt help but laugh at this narration..

  • Epic narration fail.

  • Its crazy how one of if not the most important instructions has been attributed to the Greeks, when the truth is The origin of this Instruction is from Ancient Africa.

  • what do u mean?

  • I don't understand

  • cool

  • Im more interested in actually hearing something about cycling or the cyclist... The whole Odysseus narration makes it kinda tacky and annoying. Its like one of those pretentious Adidas commercials.. but 13 minutes long..

    just putting it out there...

  • So, you've had the first comment, What is it?

  • first comment on the 1st comment ,in the butt
