Don't laugh. I used larger pans and found nothing everywhere I tried. Took my mini pan out with me instead (since it fits in my backpack easily) so I could detect with a Gold Detector without the added bulk of the 14" pans. Found a good creek. Bingo! Found gold with the smaller pan. Little pans work fine.

The 'prospector' in this video needs to stop using the topsoil. Gold rarely sits there, especially in the conditions shown on the video. I feel for him though. I do!

Its got nothing to do with the size of the pan. Simply luck of the day. I preffer the larger pans when sampling and the smaller pans when cleaning my concentrates.
