IMO this reboot can save the franchise. SM3 messed it up and they can now start over and make everything right. Personally I've always wanted to see Spiderman in this darker and more serious way, since I couldn't really take Maguire seriously...

Sorry.. but I hate the Ultimate Universe. I like how Marvel Studios made a brand new universe, where they took things from both the Ultimate AND the Main Universe, and made a brand new story. It feels like the comic book, even though it's different.
I do look forward to this new movie though! It looks like it would ACTUALLY be good. Different from the comic, but still feel like a comic book! I hope they emphasize on his wise-cracking... and "Emo" IS misused now a days haha.

I followed everything about Spider-Man 4. I heard what they were gonna do with Vulture and Felicia Hardy. I was happy with the reboot decision, Raimi had a good run.
I honestly think The Amazing Spiderman is gonna be one of my favorite superhero movies of all time, I love the dark-ish themes, I love his new costume, I love the web-shooters, etc. I cant wait for this movie.
Correct me if I'm wrong but in the comics Peter parker never had a relationship with Mary Jane in the first place. He was always with Gwen Stacey thats a part why the Spider-man series needs a reboot. Also Venom never got killed by New Goblin in the comic. There was never a New goblin it was called Hob goblin. Overall I hope this new reboot is good.

my killing off Venom. Carnage's part in the Spider-Man universe was fucked, and they killed off any chance of Toxic happening. If you read the Amazing Spider-Man comics, you'd know how badass a character that was. Now they've got a chance to come back.

I honestly think The Amazing Spiderman is gonna be one of my favorite superhero movies of all time, I love the dark-ish themes, I love his new costume, I love the web-shooters, etc. I cant wait for this movie.

Correct me if I'm wrong but in the comics Peter parker never had a relationship with Mary Jane in the first place. He was always with Gwen Stacey thats a part why the Spider-man series needs a reboot. Also Venom never got killed by New Goblin in the comic. There was never a New goblin it was called Hob goblin. Overall I hope this new reboot is good.

@antonio122997 Well i know he was sad before he became spiderman, but this whole movie gave a gloomy mood to it, and people said in ultimate spiderman he stays gloomy even when he is already spiderman. Which most of us dont like, but peter was also sad during highschool in the old movies, the only thing they really missed was his parents deaths or w/e. But the movie was still sad because of the death of uncle ben though :P

Spiderman 1&2 were awesome, Spiderman3 was okay :o but honestly, its just who wants to see another 1hr and a half of peter parker being bullied again, getting bit, becoming spiderman, and fighting a likely mediocre villian, i heard they were lizard and green goblin...so uuugh, i mean its just boring, we already know spiderman is a badass and we just want to see him fight, not go through emo depression all over again. my killing off Venom. Carnage's part in the Spider-Man universe was fucked, and they killed off any chance of Toxic happening. If you read the Amazing Spider-Man comics, you'd know how badass a character that was. Now they've got a chance to come back.
I'm glad they're rebooting the series. Now they can do justice to the comics.

@thompsoncorey Other than the whole emo peter thing, I still thought it had a decent plot. I enjoyed Sandman's backstory. Venom could've been done better. It wasn't on par with Spiderman 1-2, but it was still enjoyable.

@DionLaurent1 Where did you hear that this series will be just as dark as Nolan's Batman films because I'd love to read that statement. The majority of the movie will deal with him coming to terms with his powers in addition to influx of REAL emotions.
The Spider-Man series has a whole has a unique balance of light and dark. But the origin story OBVIOUSLY will ALWAYS one of the darker moments through out the comics and that is what they are covering in this new movie. :P

They are NO WAY trying to make this new reboot a carbon cut and paste job of the Dark Knight's dark atmosphere. The REASON this movie is considered dark is due to his...wait for it....DARK & TRAUMATIC origin story.

This video is soo true. A lot of people don't understand that Peter Parker is one of the most humanly superheros around. What I mean by is that He's not a rich playboy like Tony Stark or Bruce Wayne. Hes not an alien like Super-man or a God like Thor. He's not a super soldier like Captain America or a Mutant like Wolverine and the X-men. My point is hes an everyday guy with everyday problems who was given superpowers. Thats just like if I or any of you were given powers. He is not always "happy"
