I can usually manage to make a pot without peeing myself as well, who likes stained pants? lol jokes aside, GREAT WORK! (and that is an understatement)
@SyphonFilter26 The answer for your 1st question is in the annotation at the beginning of this video. I recommend you watch my other videos before you ask more questions because the answer might be in the other videos, especially my video # 44, 45. To search my videos, please type"mypots.net" in Youtube's search box or if you know how to go to my channel it will be easier.
@SyphonFilter26 I did an Udu drum :D but I never did it on the wheel, I worked with slabs. To give you a tip on that. Udu drums are only fired once. If you listen to the video on my page you can listen to both sounds when its fired once and fired twice. I think its called " Udu second made"
I agree with lghtme, I see people making pots so quickly, but that's not the point is it...the point is to make them well and yours are just LOVELY! Love your forms!
That takes skill to not have any clay on your pants. I come home with lots of stuff on my pants. I try to teach myself how not to get so dirty I've gotten better....:) Love your videos.
You have such a wonderful shape to your pots. I love it. I got a tip from Simon Leach to have a mirror against the wall on the other side of the pot. I can see the shape so much better in the mirror while pulling and refining. You might want to try it.
This turned out gorgeous. Love how the shape goes wonderfully from convex to concave! Thanks so much for posting this!
and without any stains on your pants... DAMN YOU SKILLED GENIUSNESS!!!

there are many questions i want to ask because im in my 2nd year of ceramics and im doing an African Udu drum.
1st how many pounds did you use for this project?
2nd when lifting, my cylinder tends to flare out, but when i close it back in, my whole cylinder starts to wobble, any tips?
3rd is there a certain way to center the clay?
4th what is the best way to lift the clay?
5th how do you make it to where the cylinder becomes a sphere? any tips

You take twice as long to make a pot, but there are twice as nice! I think I need to learn to take my time ;)

Does the B-mix with grog help with obtaining the height ?
oyajii321 1 year ago
No, adding B-mix was to prevent pots from becoming too brittle after reduction fired.

Thank you for the video, I assume that you are still using T2.

B-Mix with grog and T-2, 1:2 ratio
