guys please help me i have this heli but when i throttle on the transmitter it doesnt work the bles are just pitching not turning!! plas help!!what should i do??
Sounds like your throttle signal is not getting sent to your ESC, so your motor isn't spinning. Check the radio to ensure that your throttle channel has the proper throttle curve. You can plug a servo into your THRO channel, and plug the ESC into the BATT slot instead of the THRO slot, if that servo moves, that means your THRO channel is working properly. That's a quick way to figure out what's coming out of the channels.
If your servo moves, then your ESC may have a problem.
@DavidSunshine867 ok dude i check it but i ve seen 1 video when a man pudhing the throttle and doing the same thing and in the next vid the throttle works!!idk how to do it=[
If the throttle stick is moving and no throttle is being applied, it could be that throttle hold is on, it's a switch that stops the motor from turning, holds it at 0%, for safety, etc.
During maintenance, people will unplug the motor leads, so the motor doesn't turn, it's the same as throttle hold but safer.
That's an awesome battery, if it's actually pulling 45x2.25A, it'll last 1.33 minutes. But the chances of pulling at 101A is slim to none. With a 13T you'll have a crazy headspeed, make sure you have good blades an stand back, cuz I don't think blades are rated to that much speed. You'll probably get 2 mins with a 13T, pushing 2.5 but that'll damage your battery, because you're totally draining it.
It's no different in capacity, so the flight time is exactly the same, but the output power is 10C more, so it can output 22A more than a 35C zippy, that's worth $75 for sure, you're paying for power and quality, not capacity, if you're not going to use all the power, then no, it's not worth it, but with this motor and a 13T, you'll make use of it, so it's nice to have for when you want some crazy power. If you run a headspeed of 3300(11T), you probably won't notice the power.
thanks man your a god, well with my 11 dollar hong kong battery and 11t i was only getting 3000 rpm headspeed so thats why i was changing the gear but with the new battery my headspeeds will be better and i might not need to change gears.
and so with a 11t i should get 5 minutes flight time im guessing.
Haha no god, just paid attention in electronics class.
Depending on your system setup, you could get up to 5 mins, but that's with low timing, and limited pitch range on the blades, I would rather set the throttle curve high, timing high, and at least 13 degrees of pitch, it'll cost you flight time, but the awesome flight pays off for it. It's personal taste and flying style really. I like to give myself a heartattack.
The 2221-6 pulls an average of 35A and peaks at 80A on a 11T pinion. The 2221-8 on a 13T might pull around the same, so it could be pretty rough on a stock 35X. If you're using an external BEC it'd be safer. I've gone to an external just in case the 35X overloads.
I don't have any pages on it, but if you research VGA memory heatsinks and using JB Weld to glue on heatsinks for computer GPU/Vmem, you'll find the best ways to add cooling, it all works the same way.
Yup! You betcha! And the most powerful motor on earth!! For the size class anyways. 54A at 14V, it's more powerful than motors that are much bigger than it!
Thanks! Ya, this motor has some serious power, you'll be able to do anything with it. The headspeed's too high with the 13T though, so I'm just using an 11T, much better flight times with that. 4-6 minutes depending on how hard you push it.
13T pinion? WOW! This is madness! btw, what you mean by saying you are using a modified Align 35X ESC? I have the same setup but with 12T pinion and I'm gonna change to 11T or even 10T :-P
Haha ya 13T is stupid, 2.5min flights!! But A LOT of power!
I just switched to the 11T, it's much more realistic, 6 min hover. I think I'll give it 14 deg of pitch, should work well. I'm guessing it's got a headspeed of 3200RPM.
The 35X, I took it apart and JB Welded the heatsinks on there. Added a big heatsink over the BEC voltage regulators.
It runs cool like this.
If u don't do that, the ESC might overheat and cut power, be careful!

well that almost sounds like its no different then a zippy .
is this battery worth the extra money ?

For sure man, I'm at work right now, can't watch videos with sound or they'll fire me right before Xmas haha.
I'll have to check out your mods when the bosses are gone!!!
Merry Christmas!!

Have any more info or any links on doing the 35x mod? I'm running a 2221-8, 30c 3s, and 13t with a 35x too. I'm interested in doing the mod!

Very cool video. Im using the same motor in my blade 400 awesome.. Keep up the good work..

i might try it to when mine gets going and i get good lol would be fun and fast as hell

lol wow whats next for that little heli a trex 500 motor? lol would be cool but dangerous i think?
Nicolasr1 3 years ago
Haha, I'm sure that would rip it apart in a heartbeat. It's a tough heli, but not THAT tough. But you're giving me ideas, might have to try that out!
DavidSunshine867 3 years ago
That head speed is insane! How many RPM's?
jmmaroli 3 years ago
Hahha ya, I'm guessing 3800RPM, but it could be more or less. That's dangerous though, gotta be really careful it doesn't explode.
