ELF 101 - Shielding Hydro Tint SPF 15

I got their ivory tinted moisturizer and it's dark on me. I'm not ghostly white, but I'm a reasonable fair tone. On the site, it looks lighter than it really is.

I am an african american woman that is light skinned. The 2 is to light and the 3 is two dark so I mix 1 drop of 3 and 1/2 drop of 2 to get the correct shade for me. So in other words Ladies with what the product cost you shouldn't be afraid to experiment with a mixture of colors. This works well with the mineral line also.

i honestly love e.l.f products but the tinted moisturizer is not all that great... in my tone (which is tone 4) it made me look extremely ashy and it felt really heavy. I even tried to dilute it with water but nothing worked .I hope e.l.f decides to change the formula so it caters to everyone

This product does not cater to different skin tones...it only comes in 4 shades.

Tone 1 is too orange on my fair skin and it doesn't sink in like a normal moisturizer so my skin feels dewy, which I don't like. It could just be my skin type... I found it odd that in one of the New York fashion week videos the woman said to blend it with a sponge... Anyhoo, to use it up I just mixed it in with my regular moisturizer, so I'm still getting use out of it.

I bought this in the lightest tone to use under my (elf) mineral make up. Tone 1 is too dark for my really fair skin. I have that problem with a lot of elfs face products. The mineral foundation, well the fair made me look orange, and the light was almost right but still to dark, I ended up mixing it with the fair concealer and it now matches my skin tone.

Actually that isn't the one you are thinking of. I am going to guess and say you are thinking of the Mini Makeup Collection. If you look closer at the pallette that is in the video, and then at the one on the site, you will see that it is two different ones. The one in the video looks like it has a bigger eyeshadow selection and the cover is different.

funny you mention moisturizer, because that is exactly what I use it for ... then put my mineral foundation on over top! people tell me it looks like i have no makeup on! =)

And to everyone saying something about using it on you eyes... try the cover sticks with a little bit of pressed powder swept over then apply your eyeshadow! =) or splurge for the elf eye primer =)
