I was there on the day. Unfortunately the Pig couldnt land on the day as the new cross runway (which is long enough for the 111 to land on) was only new and the taxi way from the new strip to the old strip was too soft due to the rain. She would have broken up the pavement. We all a bit dissapointed.
@BoneyardWrangler you are sort of correct , council went to the safe side and we did not really have enough rain to worrie the pig, he could of if needed , also the new runway was not the issue - it was 18/36 that was not strong enough , shame i doubt we will ever see another one back here
yes i got the video today(sun) , i am just about to edit it and post give me 2 hrs , the lucky ones that stuck around after the show got a 3 ship show bonus, Always stick around for the crew when they fly out!!
Yes his name is FLTLT David 'Murph' Murphy, When you do a aero routeen you dont normall carry passenger, pig needs weight of capsule to be in c of g for ejection, so as pilot does all work in aero routeen that is where the credit goes , No pun for navman but he is not the co-pilot Nav man just there to make up the weight this time . if you doing airshows and need help you should not be flying airshows routeens , and i know greg did not need a hand he good pilot . Capt Kaos
I would hardly call several flypasts an aero routeen, I think you mean Routine by the way. I am aware of the need for weight in the capsule in case of ejection but you miss my point.
I do get where you are coming from, it was not added to video as i did not know who Navman was at time, this video was on youtube b4 greg got back to Amberley Air Base, so that was never gunna get added,And if i have info correct Murph was not upset about not being added.
as for aerobatic meaning, since the handling display was above 60 deg of bank it is deemed aerobatic from casa and is not stipulated in what orientation it is up or down or around ,now as most (99%)displays are done one up,i am guessing you are a navman ????
i'm not sure what your question was or whether your from the Nav union who up until the Super Hornet announcement were applying to McDonalds for employment. Navs generally bare the brunt of most jokes issued by pilots, if they don't like it they soon learn to, or at least show courtesy by laughing along. If your a Nav, i'm sorry. If i can answer any questions let me know!
hey Kaos spoke to a F1-11 pilot the other day and asked why you need a nav pilot with you?? he answered "there is a switch that turns the GPS on that i can't reach"
Very professional video from Kaos and an awesome job from Greg & navigator, sorry I couldn't be there on the day. It was unfortunate that much appreciated rain on recent days prevented Greg landing on saturday & doing static display, but video does performance justice
