Free servers can never give the true experience of WoW unless they get the thousands of dollars Blizzard gets. Sure, free servers ask for donators, but they only get a couple hundred in that aspect.

Even if private servers were illegal, Blizzard would probably put an end to it and most likely sue the creators.

And Blizzard sure as hell isn't losing subscribers or money to these servers. They're most likely losing a couple hundred, but they're gaining hundreds more every day.

Private servers in general are legal as long as it's you footing the bill for your version of WoW that you bought if it was illegal then there wouldn't be any web sites allowing private servers to advertise, they would've been shut down shortly after they started up.
