great movie, but before this, i watched the jewish people, a story of survival. it is very disturbing. my next movie to watch is understanding anti-semitism. all i can say is, after they have been exiled from israel after jesus, wherever the jews are, that country prospered, spain, now america, see how jews came to america. but at the same time, anti-semitism increases because they dont want to acknowledge that jews is part of their prosperity.

I thought Canon in D was about to play after the first note of the trailer soundtrack. But it was just a note. I checked what the note D sounded like, to see if I was right. And I was. So I have perfect pitch.
I was disappointed with this film. The fact that the Nazis staged and manipulated the footage that went into their propaganda films should not come as a shock to anyone. I'm not really sure what else the film was supposed to "reveal" beyond that. It is said at the beginning of the film that the footage was once presented as fact, but anyone who even slightly familiar with the Nazis or propaganda itself should have known not to interpret it that way.

@staphinfection I saw the movie, i believe this trailer to be a little misleading:no one actually believed that this was the truth, it was simply the only or one of the few filmed documents that humanity had on the Warsaw ghetto. But the guy who filmed this was interviewed (it's in the movie as well) in the sixties, and they asked him about how ordered him to do it, he replies it was propaganda. So we knew, the trailer simply wants to believe it was a deception to get more people in the theaters

Really want to see this film, I only found out about it after MCA was trying to get the lame ass MPAA to drop the NC17 rating. But it does sound very interesting, the whole holocaust/third Reich era captivates me because it was and still is the biggest atrocity commented against man kind. I was disappointed with this film. The fact that the Nazis staged and manipulated the footage that went into their propaganda films should not come as a shock to anyone. I'm not really sure what else the film was supposed to "reveal" beyond that. It is said at the beginning of the film that the footage was once presented as fact, but anyone who even slightly familiar with the Nazis or propaganda itself should have known not to interpret it that way.

I have to agree. Who believes any Nazi=produced document to be a credible source? I wish the director had interviewed scholars/historians about whether "Das Ghetto" was genuinely considered a credible document of life in the Warsaw Ghetto.
I thought the film would have been more about propaganda. I guess there just isn't the evidence to tell the story of what the Nazi's thinking and intentions were.

There is so much video footage from the liberation of the camps etc that whatever fairy tale the Nazi's tried to sell was obsolete before it got started. I think this film is important because it shows how calculating the Nazi's were in terms of selling their future brand. In a post victory world how to present their actions and paint the Jewish population world wide.

@staphinfection I saw the movie, i believe this trailer to be a little misleading:no one actually believed that this was the truth, it was simply the only or one of the few filmed documents that humanity had on the Warsaw ghetto. But the guy who filmed this was interviewed (it's in the movie as well) in the sixties, and they asked him about how ordered him to do it, he replies it was propaganda. So we knew, the trailer simply wants to believe it was a deception to get more people in the theaters
