  • Thank you so much! I just bought Too faced and really love it! It was nice to see the comparison.

  • 06:10 SAY WHAAAAT ?!?!

  • Why Did You Keep On Saying

    "Pretty Effortlessly" Lol

    Use Different Words

  • I feel like your completely biased to the primer potion. And this must be because this is obviously the first time you've used shadow insurance. And also it's in a sample thing from sephora, not it's actual packaging, so did you even consider it could be drying up because it's not suppose to be in the packaging it's not suppose to be. Actually use a product more than once before putting it up against your obvious favorite.

  • You really talk bull

  • She seems slightly biased towards the UD primer potion....

  • I find that for the best results in my eyeshadow, I layer the two for the best blend-ability and the for showing the true pigment. It's a lovely combo.

  • In my opinion, the Urban Decay products are better than a majority of the Too Faced products. I've found that the Pink Leopard Bronzer is the only exception when it comes to this statement. But, E.L.F beats everything.

  • I am so glad my hubby is in the Army I get too faced primer for 15 no tax :)

  • Lol it's not that hot out? Where do you live? On the equator?

  • Thank you for this review. I hope you could do more compare/contrast of similar products.

  • what is up with the lighting?

  • Both are also available at Ulta

  • This is a pretty look!(:

  • "it's not that hot out, it's about 90 degrees" LOL

  • you should be a news reporter!

  • too faced is better! ... UD dries out fast and gets hard

  • they look the same 98% personally, I think the Too faced one is way prettier

  • So, do you have oliy lids?

  • I so much prefer the UDPP. Seriously, its the better product. My eyelids dont crease at all. TFSI its and average one, unfortunately it didn’t do much for me:(

    My own review here:

    lila.pixavue.com/2011/09/too-faced-shadow-insurance-primer-base-a-paupiere-review-revue/

  • I like how even though she is obviously biased tword the Urban Decay, she still gave both of them an equal chance and did bring up the fact that it is easier for you to get all of the primer out of the Two Faced squeeze tube then out of the Urban Decay bottle. There are women who throw away about half the bottle's worth of primer because they think they are out. I tend to use loose powers over pressed and Two Faced has always griped the pigments better for me.

  • and i see alot of people asking what to do for oily eye lids if u have that problem theres different types of urban decay primer potion the bottles look the same but are different colors the nude colored one called eden (not sure if i spelled right) works good for oily eyes...in my opinion anyway hope this helped but at the end of the day use whats good for u ! :)

  • i prefer urban decay but thats just me and it is better now that it isn't made in that complicated bottle anymore :)

  • Wich one do you think is the best for oily lids ?

  • @beautymarked921 : correct @mysterychocolate : they don't work the same, you're retarded and probably cheap @keitocat : you're obviously applying cheap shadows, rubbing your eyes or have no idea what you're doing for it to be completely off; my shadow could stay for two days @beautysbiggestfan1 : who gives a f*@% about parabens? answer- no one @acdcluvr : there is absolutely no bias you weirdo @bluebell707 : it's your* lighting and your comment is really weird... @emeraldflames12 : you're wrong

  • Comment removed

  • @BeautybyTori actually, i am better than you, and probably everyone else :). how old are you 13? judging by your picture, you're some queer little girl who spends her time on facebook. hehe. :) sorry for your insecurities being surfaced :/ sad face :(

  • Comment removed

  • @CourtayMichele why do you feel the need to put everyone down and have absolutley nothing nice to say? If youre just going to be mean, dont even bother commenting.

  • I love TFSI more than UDPP because the pimer potion turns my eye bloodshot red and I'm allergic :( thetoo faced one works better anyway lol

  • Why pay so much when you can buy Nyx HD eyeshadow base, which is the exact same quality for a fraction of the cost? I have compared them to it and there is no difference guys. Save your money.

  • @MysteryChocolate I have to pay more for primers because I have extremely oily eyelids. I've tried TFSI, and the NYX one, and they both crease within 3 hours, whereas with UDPP I have no creasing at all. It would be nice if something cheaper worked, but for those with super oily lids it's hard to find something that actually combats oiliness that well! And, every product works differently with every person.

  • haha, the look u did is my school colours

  • Really? Cause I used UDPP yesterday and by the time I got home, there was barely any eyeshadow left! In fact, none was left. It wasn't even hot outside or anything.

  • the only reason why you guys should get TFSI instead of UDPP is that the too faced one does NOT have parabens while the urban decay one does. and that is reason enough to get the too faced one instead

  • UDPP leaves my eye very greasy. Too faced shadow insurance tho leaves my eye slighty oily. My fav is my MAC paint pot in painterly (:

  • You didn't put as much eye shadow as you did on the Urban Decay eye

  • wow thats amazing whats left :O

  • you remind me of Lea Michele from Glee :) Just a random thought :)

  • that was just a biased review

  • @lovechkalayla101 How can you say it was biased, I thought it was a completely honest review!

  • i find two faced shadow insurance oily :(

  • Thanks a lot girl! Same as alenushkina, I am going to get married and I wanted to know which one was better for my eyeshadow to stay all day long. ;) Nice review. Do you have any advices on lipsticks? I have a hard time for lipstick to stay all day long (I also need for my wedding) I would appreciate any advice. Either a brand/type of lipstick or just something to wear/use before applying the lipstick. Thanks :)

  • UDPP doesn't work at all for me - creases, etc... Never tried Too Faced Shadow Insurance. But my never fail is MAC Painterly Paint Pot! AWESOME!!!

  • U R SOOO PRETTY!!!:)

  • Youre lighting is really weird lol

  • Great video! You're so good at applying the eyeshadow :)

  • @julieg713 thanks for the vid! good job! r u a make up artist? i was wonderin if u recommend ne other primers that r better than these ones? (the price dosnt matter lol)

  • too face insurance is supposed to be the lighter weight formula... but both are good :)

  • I'm a fan of both UD and TF :) though i tend to like ud shadow's better.. I like tfsi better..hmmmm UDPP vs TFSI ? ... why not have both :)

  • is that just me or she looks like rachel barry from glee here ? :P

  • The color golden olive is soo amaazing oO !

  • @TheGingerkid2 no offense then you go ahead and straight up offend? not cool.

  • I can hear your dryer.... creeper!

  • I only buy the Too Faced becuase I wasted at least 50 bucks dropping the UD tube so many times. Can't wait till they change the packaging. UD seems to hold color better becuase it takes longer to dry.

  • ive had both before. the too-faced was separated and it felt graesy. yuck!

  • i think the reason that the too faced SI was thicker was because it was drier in the pot. because everyone else says that it is silkier than the urban decay. :/

  • 90 degrees is "not that hot?!" are you kidding me? wow.

  • @jellayfishay it really isnt. but to people like us 30-40 degrees is freezing.

  • @jellayfishay 19! i guess lol

  • that blue was soo pretty it was like a tiffanays blue

  • I've used both and for me I very much prefer the Urban decay primer over the Too face. I think everyone should try out the primers for themselves before making a decision, because everthings works differently on everyone. the main point is that they are both pimers and will eventually do the same thing, its just a matter of formulation preference

  • Molto bello, Brava!

  • TOO FACED!!!! <3

  • This is a really ugly eyeshadow look. but good experiment.

  • Shadow insurance is not thick at all, I agree with others with them saying that yours must have dried out. I would never recommend someone get the UDPP over Too Faced, because it's such a pain in the butt.

  • PRIMER POTION ALL THE WAY BABY haha

  • i think shadow insurance is waaaayyy more silky then UDPP...its my favorite for life :) im really glad you did this comparison!

  • thanks a mil. you have really helped me make my decision on primer. i'm going with UDPP

  • great eyeshadow for a packer fan....?

  • I don't agree that Two Faced Shadow insurance is drier or thicker. I use my out of the tube and it is a nice liquid consistency, not solid like you demonstrated. It was obviously out and dried up a bit.

  • @ymadison81 i guess that is because she got a sample ... i agree with u

  • I use urban decay primer potion. The part I don't like is that you can't tell how much is left in the tube. I came across a small size of Laura Gellers eye spackle in a smaller size in a little jar that had been sitting around for at least a year. So far it works just as well without the waste we probably leave in the Urban Decay tube. Not sure if she is less expensive or not, but planning on purchasing a full size when the little one which will last a year has run out.

  • i LOVE udpp!!!!!

  • bias....

  • your supposed to put on eyeshadow right after you apply the urban decay primer potion because the primer dries kinda fast.

  • STOP SAYING EFFORTLESSLY! Its soo annoying after the 30th time.

  • effort-LESS-ly that's cute! Thanks, I was wondering which one to buy.

  • in the background it sounds like someones gettin it onnnn :P

  • @brookiecookie73 hahhaahahahaha

  • id be really interested to see how these two hold up with drugstore products...could you do a video in that please? thanks

  • are you kidding me? Too Faced is so liquidy! I guess not getting it straight from the tube made a big difference.

  • Not all eyeshadow primers work the same for everyone. I'm sure the Too Faced was drier than it would have been. After my puppy attacked my brand new two faced bottle I had to put it into a small jar container. It's still useable but it has dried out considerably and requires much more effort to properly blend in. The tube it is originally in is pretty air tight where as little jars and such are not. I don't use UDPP just because of the container.

  • im really confused i have urban decay primer potion and every day i put it on and like an hour later my eyeshadow is long gonee i dont know what im doing wrong!

  • @immastarmal I don't know if you are still having your problem but have you tried concealer, powder, primer potion then powder again? Just a thought.

  • @immastarmal

what kind of eye shadows do you use ?

  • Thanks Julie for the information. I believe it was very helpful and your honest opinion on both products being pretty much the same was enlightening. I think that's what everyone has failed to grasp. Great vid!

  • The "Too-faced" side seems to have creased a bit. =/ Everyone's coming up with excuses for Too Faced, but really, keep in mind that this is how the product worked for HER. >.> even if it was straight from a proper tube and all that, it still might not have worked as well on HER as UDPP. So give her a break. D:

  • @Eviastt

Its not a fair match because having the primer hit dry air is going to dry it up regardless. She could have spared a few bucks to make it a true comparison

  • I've been getting into make up a lot more recently & one thing I'm noticing so often that I do not like is make up snobbery. The way I see it when you get the same end result who gives two craps about if it "glides on effortlessly" or is "easier to blend" when there is often such a big price difference! I've owned UDPP/ tried Too Faced before & I can say I don't see enough difference between them & cheaper ones I own to justify the price. Same goes for a lot of other expensive make up products,

  • you shoudn't have use a sample because it doesnt work the same

  • @val1630 Samples don't work the same? How come??

  • If I have really dry eyelids, but quite oliy in the summer, which shoud I pick?

  • @LittleCyberCat if you have oily lids then go for Urban Decay Primer Potion . It also helps control oily lids and helps keep the eyeshadow in place all day . Well Too faced gets seperated in the tube . Because the product seperats from the water so you have to squish it around to mix it . Also too faced can be greasy.

  • You seem completely biased towards the urban decay. That's all I'm going to say.

You obviously already own the Urban Decay.

But it was a really good 'how to' video :)

  • So helpful.... Thank you!!!

  • YOU DIDNT DO A CONTROLLED EXPERIMENT!!

  • @SparksYukiSparks How could she have done it better??

  • You can't do a good review if you did'nt even have the Too Faced Shadow Insurance, it was in a pot, that makes it dry! This review is very bad because of that.

  • @MakeupAndHair01 So you're saying that if she had the original bottle of Too Faced than it would have glided on better and been easier to blend?

  • @misssandycandy Of course, when it's in a pot it drys faster. I don't know if the product is good, haven't tried it, but its not valid when its a sample size.

  • do you know that your suppose to pat on mac shadow it works a lot better

  • you look like lea michele from glee, but with a narrower face :) so pretty xx

  • I am so glad that I found this video!!!!!!!!!!! I have the MAC 209 brush and I love it! (random Haha) Would you get the full size of the Too Faced Shadow Insurance?

  • hey hey! I know the video is a little old, but is the facefront site still running??

    somethings seems funny..

  • It's true. As soon as a product is placed into a sample, it is drier. The Urban Decay Primer Potion and Too Faced Eyeshadow Primer feel almost IDENTICAL!

  • you seem kinda biased since you obviously own udpp (im assuming since you had to get a sample of too faced and you already had the full size tube of udpp)

  • @acdcluvr how is it biased if she recommends both of them?

  • @acdcluvr I don't think she is being biased at all, she is just giving an honest opinion on both primers. I for one have used both primers and agree with Juilie, the UDPP is slightly better in that the shadows glide on and blend better :-)

  • make up tutorial and n experiment in one vid

  • The too faced looks like it creased at the end of the day. You can really see it at 9:34, I think. I have Primer Potion in Sin, and looooove it, so maybe I'm a little bias. :)

  • .. i hv both.... i think they r the sammee in every wayy

  • welll well c u u wont c us..,

  • This video was really informative. thanks!

  • the new udpp has a curved wand now

  • its the professional one but its a limited edition

  • sephora now makes a bigger primer potin in a squeezy tube

  • where i live the too faced eyeshadow insurance is 27 bucks.. i bought it.. got ripped off, but oh well i like it..

  • your eyes are big and round

  • your eyes are beautiful! (:

  • I think urbany decay is better, ive never tried it but it looks like the udpp is worth it.It might be hard to get out when your running low,but you can cut it open our put it in the microw wave and pour it out.And you pay for the same amount of money and urbany decay is taller.

  • yes, i also think it's harder because it's in the yar.

    because it's very smooth (:

  • i like the tutorial as well ;D

  • Thank you for saving my wedding day. I watched your video just 3 days before the wedding and went to sephora to get a sample of Too Faced Shadow Insurance . It really works I didn't have to fix my makeup from 10a.m. to 11p.m. with 84 F and 80% humidity .

  • sorry but this review is bad! how could you do a review if you dont have the full tube of the too faced? who knows that sample could be dried out and thats not really fair.

  • @macobsessed07 if you dont trust in her, just dont see the video ;)

  • I tried both at Sephora and they both worked pretty much the same, in my opinion. They were both the same price, so I bought shadow insurance because it had 0.35 ounces of product and primer potion only had 0.34 ounces. :)

  • some people say that the urban decay primer potion doesnt cover their veins on their eyes. I have a lot of veins on my eyes so I was wondering if the too faced shadow insurance will cover the veins. Please answer!

  • @MsGinger3000 it's not supposed to... the too faced one doesn't cover anything. it goes on clear.

  • @MsGinger3000 well it's not a coverup, it's an eye primer..

  • I'm thinking that sample of two faced shasdow insurance was a little dry since it wasn't straight form a regular tube. That makes the comparison invalid. Sorry. But thats my opinion.

  • @VictoryFire88 I don't understand why it matters, since she didn't diss either of them, and said they were pretty much the same. I've seen UDPP used waaaay more than the Too Faced. It all comes down to personal preference, so I don't see why people are complaining about the outcome.

  • @Smashley506 good point. you know I bought the Urban Decay one a mixed some of it with my homemade stuff and now it works just as a good as the full product. lol Basically I extended the amount.. :D And I still have about a full thing of the primer potion. I'm such a cheap skate.

  • lol too face hahha 2 face

  • She really should have edited by now that Urban Decay redid the packaging. Bottle is the same, but the brush is now angled so that it can get into curves of the bottle and stop wasting so much product.

  • UDPP is $18.

  • i lovee how all your brushses are always cleaan :) lol, and your camera light settings were changing throughout the video, at first your wall was orange, then pink, then purple :D

  • u say efforlessly alot and everytime u have to break it down lol love yur videos

  • Thank you this video was very helpful.

  • udpp is $18 now (in america at least) and tfsi is still 17

  • @hannah8pie lucky, in Canada, udpp is 22 and tfsi is 25!

  • @TheShimmerBabiii same, and i bought them both.. eyeshadow insurance plus tax is 27.. sucks for canadians.. :(

  • please tell me if the store cost of urban decay and too faced is the same like in the website =))....great video !!

  • Thank you so much for this video. This was extremely helpful!

I also really love the makeup you did in this video!

  • oh wow that look is a cute tutorial in itself! thanks for the comparison! I "intuitively" felt less at ease with UD PP. it felt more "dryin" in a sense - I once heard it is good for oily lids - mine are not, so maybe that's it.

thanks for the great review anyway! :) I LOOOVE UD PP sin for the look of it though :)

    much love!

    Dina

ps. mearamint is so cute!!! never heard of that brand!

  • You do know that You should be seperating your brushes as well, your combining the products with your eyeshadows brushes.

  • Victoria's Secret has added an eyeshadow primer to their makeup line.. and it's only $8! I've been using it for about a month and it works great for me. I will never pay $18 for a primer... crazy!

  • after seeing that picture of how much is left, i'm not getting that kind.

  • this was such a great video! :]]

  • what is the name of the font you used?

  • @TICKLEMEPINK451

honestly it looks like the font from that stupid show the replacements

  • Hmmm I just read the article about Urban Decay Primer Potion! That is a rip off!!!

But I love Urban Decay and there Primer Potions works good! What should I do? Use Two Faced Shadow Insurance or just keep UDPP and cut it open? I'm not sure yet.

  • is she half latina?

  • Urban Decay Primer Potion is 18 dollars where i live O-O

  • @xHearTheRainx i've seen people selling it online for about $11 o_o

  • ur realli pretti!! =] :) =) =0 =O

  • OK I am getting the toofaced one.

  • I like your eyebrows. Whoever waxes them does a damn good job

  • @LinkLarkinLove I was thinking the same thing!

  • @sossoni i want her waxer as my own lol

  • stippling it on :) yay for art terms!

  • Thank you for the video!!!

  • i think this video is way too long.. it gets boring after a while

but still thanks for ur effort for explaining :)

  • like a replica of blair - in a good way ;)

  • The best primer potion you can buy! It works for oily skin, combination skin and dry skin, its like the best primer to use for your eyes before putting eyeshadow on. :D

  • Too Faced Shadow Insurance is my Fav! It really makes eyeshadow more vibrant and last ALL day :) I have tried so many shadow primers and I always go back to Too Faced Shadow Insurance

  • Do you use UDPP or shadow under paint pots or just use the pain pots?

  • I just got the Too Faced Shadow Insurance and I really like it. I used to use the Urban Decay Primer Potion but I really like the Too Faced because there is more in it, it is less money, anddddd you can squeeeezzzz it out unlike the Primer Potion, as was said in the video. Other than that they are neck to neck in use. They both work just fine.

  • 90 degrees is not hot it is were im from our hot days are 70 degrees
