I saw Sabbath in 1999 in Atlanta, but I can't remember if they did this song. "Sweet Leaf," yes. "Children Of The Grave," yes. "Fairies Wear Boots," yes. This one? Cannot remember...
Actually, they played "Lord of This World" in 1972 when I saw them at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena. It was one of the highlights of the show, along with "Faieries Wear Boots."
There's a recording of that gig that exists, but it's incomplete and neither one of those tracks are on it. And there's been several people that have come forward and said that song was played live in 1972, although it's yet to appear on any recordings from the period. The times I mention in the info, are ones where a recording exists. There easily could be more, and I'd hoping something turns up from early '72 with Lord of This World on it.
@blacksabfan That was a killer concert. I think they opened those shows with N.I.B. but I could be wrong. If there is a recording I'm betting the sound quality isn't very good. That was dawn of Arena Rock, where they were still working the bugs out.
@SabbraCadabra789 For a 14-year-old, it was a legal intoxicant. Ozzy was young, blond and skinny. In fact he looked almost feminine, like Susan Dey from The Partridge Family. Geezer Butler flailed his bass; during "War Pigs," he kicked his leg so high I thought he was going to topple over. I wish they'd played "After Forever," though.
As far as bootlegs go, this is really good. If you think is bad, then you wouldn't be interested much in any of the recordings from the early 70s floating around...
Let me rephrase that, did they ever perform songs like Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Lord of this World, Looking for Today, St Vitus Dance in the early seventies
wolfgangs vault should have the answers you want. I want to say they played all of them but I know for a fact they didnt play st vitus dance or looking for today
They did perform Sabbath Bloody Sabbath a few times in 1973. No version has been found on any audience tape though. Looking for Today and St. Vitus Dance have never been performed.

Dude, you need to have the balls to plant your elbows into a face and throw some fists if you want to live and enjoy a metal concert. It's not a golf outing.
I left this show early because some fucking skinhead knocked the wind out of me as I walked through a moshpit that shouldn't have been there........I was clean and sober at the time and I went home and crushed all of my Sabbath CD's....such a mistake.....I shoulda went back and killed that fuck and stayed.....
Im all for mosh pits but i hate it when some giant fucker goes in 1 not thinking about his fucking size, people have died because of inconsiderate ass' like that.
yousaiditzero, Rhino just remastered all 8 Ozzy-era albums in 2004 and released them in a box set called Black Box. It's totally worth the price, and it sounds phenomenal.
Thanks for the reply blacksabfan. If you'd like an unsolicited opinion, I'd prefer the medley over SBS. KYTL and the medley are the rarest tracks. SBS is on the Reunion CD (though obviously not from this show). Thanks again blacksabfan, you've got about the best rare Sabbath collection I've seen on YouTube!
I see where you're coming from and I agree. "Reunion" is a dissapointment, in my opinion too, at least when talking about Ozzy and crowd banter. It's just Ozzy's voice sounds quite good on that particular version. Alas, to each their own I suppose.
AWESOME!!! Would absolutely love to get a copy of this bootleg. :D

@Staggerbaroque Ozzy was never skinny lmao ! He has always been well built, he became fat when he founded his solo career in the late 1979 !

Could you please post the medley ? I'm dying to hear it. Appreciate it.

Thanks alot for this awesome audio clip! Iommi´s solo and Ozzy´s vocals really rocked!!

Will you be posting "Killing Yourself to Live", "Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath", or the medley of "Sweet Leaf/Symptom of the Universe/Supernaut"?
bs78port 3 years ago 3
I'm working on "Killing Yourself to Live" as we speak. I'll probably also do "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath". Not sure if I'm going to post the medley.

This is awesome, but the reunion CD is of better quality for obvious reasons. Still a great listen though.

Yeah but reunion is missing most of the banter between Ozzy and the Audience. Too spit and polish for my tastes.
