I don't have a lot of friends and sometimes I have to wonder, is it cash they see when they look at me cause they're looking for a ride that's free. So I made the choice to be good to those who were good to me.Don't judge me or think I'm bitter for the evil God's allowed me to see, I'm just me.
Classic joint the lyrics are powerful, ten city always represents chi-town to the fullest. Ten City will always be my favorite band/group of all times...................
Ten City, in my opinion, was the "only" live band who played "house" music. This track is definitely hot! Kudos to MARSHALL JEFFERSON! G.I. Representing!
white people are too condedscendant??? first of all, that's not even a word. second, you can't make absolute statements. or, at least, TRUE absolute statements. you wouldn't like for people to say "all black people" or "all gay people" or all anybody. it's ignorant. peace & love
Whatever anyone has to say about this song, positive or negative one thing can be said. Music brought union to diversity, life is about adaptability. if you can't adapt you get left behind. Anyway being from Chicago, I love this group and what the were saying. Peace n Love 2Da World
What's "left behind"? If it's anything, isn't life all about getting left behind? Find the individual. That is always, always. Because when you've found the individual you only just at that instant also just start to go about finding the individual. And so on.
Adapt to what, anyway? New dance moves in the disco? That's all I can think of. The basics of life are never going to change. And nearly everything else is style, expression or modality. O.K. the 'digital world' is a huge change, but anything like that (except possibly commercially) can't require people to adapt. Because anyone who thinks they are required to adapt will discover after some time that nothing can change essentially. It's just lights and pixels instead of paper and stamps.
The idea "you HAVE TO adapt" to things you see is 1 way of allowing yourself to be a superficial person. Just think of yourself, that's the right path. It can never change, there's no question.
I can't help thinking some people who say 'you have to adapt' mean the world has got depressing & if you don't join in with stupid modes that are alien (& maybe bad, evil), you're going to wind up in the depressed & unsuccessful gang.
white pple are way too condescendant, see how elvis was idolised while all he did for the most part was singing other pple songs without crediting them.
Words can't explain the feelings I get when I hear Ten City..Love is the closest..They bring back extremely fond memories The Paradise Garage..Anyone who is familiar with King St can relate..
They bring back thoughts of GOOD TIMES, GOOD PEOPLE and music that will never be again..
This song in particular brings happiness to my heart..
Nothing like hearing TEN CTY playing on some 1200's. By the way ,does anyone have a extra vinyl copy of the first and second albums? CD's don't do this music justice.
superficial people are braindead. they make themselves miserable, then they wonder why. I'm goodlooking I can admit, but no way do I think I'm better then anyone because I'm attractive or whatever you consider attractive. I go for people with brains.
I loved all there tunes but this was by far their best in my opinion but maybe too good to gain a respectable chart position! It's such an inspirational tune!! I love this kind of bump & grind, funky house style of the early 90's! But there was a 12" remix which is available on Norman Jay's 'Good Times 4' cd. Man, it is so sooooooo GOOD! Seek it out!!
i remember byron when he worked at wendys on north avenue in chicago, made appearances at local house parties ten city should reunite for those of us who like music with reason and truth.
That's The Way Love is was one of my favorite songs but I never knew who made it. I remember taping it off the radio...turns out God sent me Herb as a husband...He's a wonderful person. I really wish they would get back together. I did not follow their music then but as I listen now ...W O W!!!
