those are open strums. you hit them by strumming without holding down a fret button.

Im suprised they have it in expert! its supposed to be for like begginer!

well the purple bar acts like a 6th note and makes bass more challenging. in beginner you can strum and hold down anything you want but on expert you have to release every fret button and strum.
