I loved that car, but so much stuff was broken that it was not worth fixing in my opinion, I got my money I paid back out of it by junking it and trading in for a new car.
@Pofke13LT 190,000 miles is nothing my 21 year old 535i had 357,984 miles and it's still running fine, despite that fact that it's in dyer need of brakes, windsheld wipers, a throttle cable, a tune up, two O2 sensor, the paint was peeling to the primer, an OBC, a radio, the power locks only work on the driver and fuel door, a fuel door and the hinge, engine hoses and belts, a radiator and it had 9.4 mpg.

A few months ago I bought 1992 BMW 535i 5 speed with 170k miles. Engine running rough; control arms, subframe mounts, pitman arms, sway bar links, brakes, tires - all gone. Rough body, horrible paint. No AC. Electrical problems inside (locks, windows). But that was the car I was looking for in a long time. I put some love in it, many hours of works, less than $1000 in new parts and now it runs awesome. It only needs paint now. This poor white BMW could have been saved. It's a rare car...
@wojciechmro I too just purchased a1992 e34 535i, 5 speed with 166k. Cold weather package with heated seats and limited slip rear end. I just replaced the subframe mounts and rear pitman arms. Fixed the damn seat twist. I also had some body work done due to rust along the door bottoms and replaced a passenger fender, now doing the full front suspension and need to fix the ASC as well. I paid $1800 for it in that shape becuase it is scarce, they only made about 5000 e34 535i 5 speed manual.
