Goodness, I still know the lyrics by heart, and I haven't listend to the vinyl record for ages - years, since I haven't got a record player at hand any longer. Who has, apart from DJs?
EVERYBODY ... OUT THERE IN THE WORLD ... Does anyone remember the name of the song on Measure for Measure that is a really beautiful song, a bit sad but it's about "a man working and not being worth anything to the big company" ... Not sure if I'm explaining it correctly...but its' a really cool song and I would LOVE to get hear that song again...It's a slow song, awesome...can anyone help me ? Thank You
I had this on tape many eons ago. I lost it criminally. I'm in nostalgia mode. This is such a great song as so many Icehouse songs are. So thanks for making it available for all to enjoy again
@Avatarxz ... do you mean "emulate?" If there is a Keyboard player out there that is available to travel to the United States, I'm doing a Record(CD) in March or April and I need a good Pianist/Keyboard player for our project...music is in the vein of Pink Floyd...with big melodic Guitar sounds...i.e., Gary Moore, Robin Trower, Jeff Beck...my email add: consultantoc58@gmail.com ... hope to hear from someone out there...
AWESOME SONG! Iva is an Aussie hero. I can't believe the fickle buyers neglected him in the early 90s. He is so creative and awesome. Bi-polar Poems needs to be released soon or I'm gonna die.
@22ndWave Thank you for the comment! Glad that you appreciate it. It's encouraging to know that someone from the current generation appreciates it. I'm currently trying to put together a band to cover the atmospheric songs by Icehouse, The Fixx, and Thomas Dolby despite my naysayer musician friends and contemporaries.
@extantia All the best with it! When I hit college, I want to try something similar. If you aren't aware of them, you should without a doubt check out 'The Venetians'. Especially their song 'Chinese I's'. Really meaningful lyrics much like these guys.
@RJPaulista Bom dia! Nao posso falar muito bem portueges, so I must in English say that I thank you and I'm glad that you enjoyed it as much as I have.
"Uma das mais inspiradas baladas de todos os tempos...O Paraíso deve ser um lugar aonde se ouve músicas como essa por toda a eternidade...80's FOREVER!!!"
i'm so glad you posted this. my dad and I listen to Icehouse all the time, and this one is special because we listened to it before my baseball team won the championchip game. This ong is very special to me and thanx for posting it :)
@zakman246 I mean the Great Southern Land album. I bought it from Amazon, sometime back in 2000 thereabouts. It was remastered with added tracks, and this song was one of them.

Their lyrics were as good as their music.
"One wave that closes on a drowning man
One man who never knew the meaning of resistance
So now the turning tide will take another prayer to paradise"
Thanks for uploading this!

You will need a Fairlight III keyboard to do that my friend.
They sound great but are a pain in the ass to minipulate!
