I saw a baby possum weeks ago, it was standing on top of the fance playing dead when my mom tries to take a picture of it and dad holding a lantern for mom to see the possum, all of the sudden it started to hissed at dad cause he accidently touch the possum's tail X3

Just in case you find an opossum in the future, don't try giving it hot dogs or anything that may have beef in it, as well as cat or dog food; those are some of the few things that they cannot eat. Boneless poultry or nearly any vegetable will do, though! :]

you're a good man beta. i once found a abaondoned baby possum in some rubble in my parents garage when i was a young boy. its mother had been terrorizing and attacking our cat to the point of near death... so my father killed it... but we had no clue that she was a mother trying to reach and feed her young. i tried so hard to heal it and nurse it back to health with my mom, but alas poor young "squeeker" as i had named him died. this video made me feel good, like it made up for squeekers loss ty

@wesker1998 They're not that violent, i've been with possums a lot and they never jumped on me or bit me. They only attack if they feel threatened. If you dont like them, then stay away and keep your dog away from the and they wont bother you.

fair enough, but if I leave my dog outside for a period of time during the night and one just happens to make the mistake of wandering into the yard, there is not much I can do and I wont stop any attack because if I distract my dog, she could get hurt by the possum while she is not paying attention. I can't get it to eat. Your video has helped as maybe I need to leave it alone in a private place to relax with it's food.

Give it some chicken, baby food mixed with cat food. They eat slugs, rats, mice, snakes, etc. They are immune to rabies and poisonous snake bites. They are also very docile.

HI ligeiaw !, just wanted to tell you, My little oppossum I found on my porch, months back, grew halfway to adult size. She lived at one end of my house, hid inbetween the boxes. She only came out to sit on top of my oriental divider to watch us all, including my 3 little dogs. She was so adorable. I soon learned what foods were her favs by putting platefuls of dif. samples down each night . I named her Possibly Possum. She kept going to the door, finnally I let her out, Feed her at night.

Sha, poor little bebe! XD Is that a twinkie you gave it? They really are so precious though. And so very soft. My dad's a vet and someone brought a mom opossum in one time her dog had attacked. So Dad had me help him hold it down while he removed the ruined eye, her babies hiding their heads in her pouch. Their fur is so much softer than even a rabbit's despite how they look.

I work with a wildlife rehabilitator and have a non-releasable opossum that lives with me. She's so gentle, clean, and docile. She uses a litter box too! Thank you for being so kind to this little one. Like Mental Rob said above, they do a lot of good for the environment.

Possums are misunderstood, they are great to have around, they eat bugs and roachs and are very clean and don't get rabbis. They also don't dig or destroy proporty. The possums around my place I feed them bread and they love brocolli.

Great video! The little guy/girl is about 2.5 to 3 months old...right about the age they leave mom naturally. As a wildlife rehabilitator I have raised many. They are about the size of a pea when they are born and remain in the pouch until about 2 months old when they begin coming out and clinging to mom's back.
