  • The Buffalo organist was a wise guy. Listen to what he's playing during this fight—Irving Berlin's:

    I'll be loving you

    Always

    With a love that's true

    Always

LOL. Gare & Hart were two tough little guys. Hart had the bad fortune of being an original Islander, playing there all the lean years and while they were building the team, then being let go just as they were about to win four Stanley Cups.

  • i am cousins with gerry hart

  • wish Gare had stayed with buffalo instead of going to columbas as broadcaster, he be the color guy with jeanerrete if he had

  • We're glad to have Danny here in Columbus but he had a lot of nice things to say about Buffalo when we played there earlier this year. His daughters were at the game with their husbands & it was like a big family reunion!

  • in the nhl's

    dinosaur days of marketing

it was against the rules for visitors to wear

    names without the host's permission

    so nobody did

  • The reason was because the owners of the host team believed that it would cut into the sales of programs. They wanted fans to buy the game program which always had a page devoted to names and numbers, and sometimes even height, weight and birthplace of a players. Game day programs and hockey cards were the only places you could get player profiles. With the internet nowadays, I rarely think I need to buy a program for player identification today. They are x-pensive and filled with too many ads.

  • This is 74-75 or 75-76. Isles don't have names on the back of their jerseys yet.

  • I believe the date is 3-2-75

  • Thank You.
