Cockatiel Yawning

Today i was giving my cockatiel booboo some scratches and he started to yawn lol

Your cockatiel is not yawning, he is clearing his crop.  They do indeed yawn but when they are behaving like that they are empying the crop or sac into their stomach.

My bird does this a lot after I rub his ears. I thought he was yawning. Maybe when their ears get rubbed, something effects their throats which make them yawn like this. Ear, nose and throat - they are all connected. I'm gonna have to go with yawning. I did see him do this a couple of times while eating. I thought he had something caught in his throat. I offered him some water. He did take some and then he stopped doing it. I think it depends what the situation is.

Nope...not yawning. Research birds. Crop, ear or throat issues. Could be adjusting...could be infected...something could be stuck in the crop.  Take them to a vet

I do take them to the vet and I do do my research thank you very much. It's yawning. At least in my birds' case. If its a bad sign in others, okay, but in mine its yawning.

Mine used to do the same thing and i took him to a vet and he found out that he had a serious infection..After serious medical treatment he is now ok..

Cockatiels yawn after preening or if they're adjusting their crop. They also do it when they are tired. It's a perfectly normal behavior for cockatiels.

Go educate yourself on cockatiel behavior before you go around bashing bird owners as noobs. Oh, and get a semblance of decent typing skills while you're at it.

When they do so, you just need to open the window a bit to get some fresh air into the room. It works! :D
