  • Britains greatest rock band. 50 years and counting. Keep rollin' boys..!!

  • Where can I buy this version? Mick sounds drunker on this one.

  • aint herd 21st senchury vershun yet, but this here song is a real deal. them rolling stones do countory musics bettern eny of them hollywood types thas populatin nashviell an bakersfiel thes days - lonely harts, they just made to break, aint no spare parts . . . if i want sumpin bad enuff i oughta fine a way to git it - them is trulyest lyricks to be rit bout life. an theys music is outstandinly authentitically strait from a hart. sound likat ta me. much thanx, Schulle-san.

  • reading most of the comments about how most dont like this version. Of course its not a polished version its a studio demo where they're playing very loose and getting the groove down. STONES forever hope they keep on rollin' in 2012!!

  • Where can I find this awesome image???

  • I expected to like this more than the new version, but I don't. I usually prefer loose and sloppy to polished, but the new version is more melodic and dynamic. Maybe I'll change my mind a after more listens.

  • I love this song, but the new version is just awful. Mick's voice doesn't sound so authentic and warm as in this version. I don't care if it's country or what, it's just music. I love the rolling stones, no matter if they do country stuff, disco like in "miss you" or just old good rock n roll. They're rock gods for me.

  • @pierdolefication also the new version has different, more sanitized lyrics.

  • Oh my gosh, this is the first time i've heard bootleg and i am abso-freakin-lutely IN LOVE. Holy wow. I mean i do love the exile feel/beast of burden-ish guitars of the new remastered version, but this, This is the Stones in all their drunk/raw-sounding, hazy, slurred, rock n roll glory. Seriously dont care about the negativity/crap people say about the Stones doing country, i think when its raw and fucking loose like this, it is just beautiful.

  • @graceezzz stones are a bluesy/country band ... like keith explains in Life...

  • 48,000th view.

  • Just love the stones....Kieth is the best for me at singing :) x

  • best version!

  • i like this version best!!! maybe tighten it up a bit,

  • This version is great. Part of me wish they just remastered this version instead of re-recording micks vocal on the reissue. I mean the reissue sounds great but I want to hear something exact from 1978 not 2011 when it comes to that era of reissues.

  • is this an outtake from the some girls/emotional rescue period?the guitars sound fom around then.

  • This version is way better than what they just put out on The Some Girls re issue

  • @MrJsmyers I don't know, Mick's voice sounds more commited on the reissue (his voice in general more like its old great self on the reissue after that Superheavy crap).

  • @steveconn Mick sounds ok...but The new version sounds kinda rushed to me...it is way too short and who said this song needed anything...This is my version right here...Everything else is fine on the new CD...i like this just the way it ease......it is down home and like i said the new version seems kinda rushed without the fun that Mick got doing this version..........

  • @MrJsmyers It's just kind of murky compared to the reissue. All in all the new package is a big success. Mick's voice has his old wit and energy ("I Love You Too Much" above especially good). I wish they had included "I Need You" too ( used to be on youtube, pulled), but oh well.

  • listened to the remastered version that was just released, and i can understand why Mick wanted to 'finish' it, but damn it is sooooooooooo fucking good just like this. ahhhh Stones <3

  • Jagger's voice as well as his approach to singing has changed over the years. I can tell immediately which Jagger I am hearing. Like having a bias saying music was better in the old days, I feel the same way about the Stones. There's nothing they've done in decades that really has excited me. Even live, I go back to Ladies and Gentlemen. Everything they've done since pales by comparison.

  • @ls1959 We all have our favorite vintages. But I agree - I do love seeing them and am always blown away, but my favorite Jagger voice era is the 1970s.

  • The new version is a great song but it is nothing, nada, niente, zilch compared to this one, it lacks of the folk ingredients that complicate things when it comes to The Rolling Stones Rock Magic!

  • Comment removed

  • Love this version, better than the new one, I think. The new one is more polished and tidied up, but this one has a rawness I like.

  • This aint nothing u guys need to listen to the real stones

Not this crap!!!! I mean i love the stones but come on......

  • I tell ya

    I ain't accustomed to lose

If I want somethin' bad enough

I always find a way to get it, baby

    Including you

  • These guys are the best when they're loose and having fun. I love the Stones because they always bounce back with great stuff!

  • I like that sudden "baby - sugar!" scream.

  • Ah its nice to listen to this. This is when good music began. With the stones

  • After having heard both versions several times I clearly prefer this one. It's more dynamic, hase a looser approach, not as forced and in control as the new one. That is boring routine in comparison. I asked another person, played both versions without explanation. She didn't realize that this is Jagger, too, first, cause she knows his new voice. But she liked this one better, says it has more "charakter". M.J. maybe disliked his unfinished, mumbled lyrics, like a rehearsal, but I didn't mind.

  • Still and always will be the best. The original is much better although both are good. Mick is so darn vain...he probably thinks this song is about him!

  • DIFFERENT VERSION more vivid. Jagger at his best!

bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b015n3zp ---before the usual prefix. Try it ! It's like in the old days when all was diffused at Radio Luxemburg, later BBC played some of thier hits 6-8 times an hour.

This gives same energy kick!! No matter 45 or 30 years ago!

  • @anrui88 I heard the version you linked earlier today. I like that one better. Like you said Mick at his best.

  • DIFFERENT VERSION more vivid. Jagger at his best!

    bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b015n3zp ---before the usual prefix.

  • Hey Gang, This Was Just Released From The SOME GIRLS Album. Which Was Un-released Up To Now.......Enjoy !!!

  • so much better than the re-release... shame on Mick for ruining this classic

  • Incredible

  • 0 dislikes? there has got to be some idiot out there who dislikes this song...lol

  • I'm looking' forward to that Some Girls reissue! I hope they do Sticky Fingers next.

  • I think I like it better than the new version, it's authentic.

  • Mic creating another charactor in his voice..........

  • Comment removed

  • About to get an official release with the Some Girls reissue.

  • dont sound like mick/stones this single is out november 2011 by the rolling stones and it sounds like mick/stones anybody shine some light email me

  • Great stuff! Nothing like discovering an old unreleased Stones track! I'm surprised this didn't find it's way onto Emotional Rescue or Tattoo You, both of which were largely comprised of older "work in progress" songs. Glad to hear it will be included on the upcoming Some Girls deluxe reissue. :)

  • that's def Mick singing....sounds like "Think I'm Goin' Mad" to me.....

  • No wonder it didn't make the original album. Monotonous and b-o-r-i-n-g. Almost 6:10 of my life I'll never get back (I couldn't sit through the whole thing).

  • These guys are magic. "Spare Parts" has the wonderful "taking the mickey" on country music that they do on "Far Away Eyes"

  • Sounds like 'You Cant Always Get What You Want'!

  • @gdip181

    ...or 'Think I'm Going Mad'

  • Outstanding tune, as always, by the world's greatest rock n roll band. In fact, even though they very seldom do country, you would be hard pressed to say any country music group does it better.

  • nobody does country rock better than The Rolling Stones

  • great song

  • This was recorded early 1978 on the Some Girls sessions.

  • Y'a que des Anglais, help!

  • BRILLIANT SONG!!!!!!!!

  • WHAT A COOL SONG , DADDY GOT DRUNK !! DRANK HIMSELF TO DEATH !! MIGHT AS WELL , WHEN YOU , HAVE WET BRAIN :)):))

  • @NYCPUBS and your shagging your mother??????????????AND DOGSBREATH WHO PREFERS KANGAROOS

  • That's Keith on vocals. Sounds like Black & Blue time.

  • Wow, what a fricking awesome song!! Thanks for sharing!!

  • The best unreleased Stones song I've heard after Figi Gin

  • i love how he just used to sing and not try so hard. lol

  • "Daddy drunk, daddy drunk himself to death, when he was only 35 years old..." I've probably listened to this song as much as any Stones tune ever, it is mesmerizing. Love the mantra at the end... 'If I want something bad enough I always find a way to get it..." Sounds a lot like 'Faraway Eyes'... I hear Mick on the electric piano, Ronnie on that Slide, and Bill and Charlie- No Keith...?

It's something about driving to Dallas, TX for an uninvited Thanksgiving Dinner appearance.

  • Mick gets more mileage from the I-IV chord progression than anyone I can think of. And it usually sounds good, as The Stones often do.

  • Never heard this before but kinda reminds me of Some Girls.

  • is a demo from 79...not good enought 4 emotional , but it shoulf b on tattoo..

  • (Nearly) Every Rolling stones Song has a different sound-a different feeling!(not like the beatles songs...)

I love this picture of Mick!!

  • some say U2 is the greatest rock band , well i dont see it . U 2 SUCKS!!!!!!! i dont get what people see in them , their songs r bland , I NEVER in my life turned up the radio cause a U2 song was on . i guess they're so popular is becuse most people say ; YA , THEY'RE OK I'LL GO SEE THEM , WHAT THE HELL

  • thats right, cause the stones are the only band that can change their sound and pull it off

  • i said it 10000000000000times and i say it again the rolling stones ARE and WILL ever forever be the greatest band ever...no one,,,no one can compete wirh the stones..not zeppelin, not beatles, not elvis, not..hmm lady gaga, beyonce, tupac. madonna,...NO ONE...

  • suena como: you cant always get what you want!!!

  • 'got no spare parts got no oil change', guess what? a series of tapes made with Journalist Chet Fillipo were stolen from chet's apartment. Still they have never surfaced (unlike the stuff stolen from Jimmy Page) . this was named off in Chet's book, but this is a studio version, not a hotel version...Rolling Stones: 20 Years of Lipstick, Handcuffs and Chemicals by Chet Flippo ...!!!

  • I am really shocked to read some people here. I love the Stones, but I have just recently become aware of all the bootleg stuff out there. Why should this not be available for everybody? So what if its this track that will make some kid a Stones fan? Why should this be reservered for die-hard-spending-all-life-searching-for-bootleg-fans? That's shite. It's illegal anyway, so why not just share it?

Thanks for the upload - made my day :)

  • @palindromDK

That's shite. It's illegal anyway, so why not just share it?

-- hail to that --- thanks

  • @palindromDK

lol Keef really doesn't care if anybody pirates their stuff; he's just happy their listening to it.

  • I love the way Mick sounds here. Fuck I love the Stones.

  • @grimmmammoth It's Keith!!!!!

  • @grimmmammoth It's not Mick it's Richards

  • Comment removed

  • @grimmmammoth YEAH RIGHT ! I fuckin love them too.

  • As much stuff that gets pulled off you tube due to copyrights, its not heaven either! This is just a free preview of what the die hard collector will get in complete form and the knowledge of what out there! Have you ever heard of a record/cd convention? Have plenty of cash, lots of time, and make damn sure you have a cassette recorder at home to record those half priced cd-r's on first play that will certainly lose audio and skip soon afterwards. P.S. dont forget the vcr recorder for the dvd's

  • @apolonio0907

bootlegs of studio outtakes usually dont but still...

  • great tune, I could loop it all afternoon sipping on wine

  • really like this=)

    (gr8 share hols..tnx!)

  • I guess I'm not a fan of placing Stones outtakes on youtube. They were supposed to be on bootlegs for die-hard and collectors not all over youtube for the masses. Uploaders think first before you upload anything.

  • Quite right. To hell with the people!

  • You are wrong there. I own almost all of the albums, countless books/DVD's on them, and enjoy playing the songs on guitar when I have free time. It is great to hear unreleased things like this. Sorry if I don't feel like shelling out copious amounts of money for rare bootlegs. Shit, I was enjoying the mess out of this untill I read that comment. Just because I don't own original Super-8 footage of the 72 tour doesn't make me any less of a fan or unappriciative of things like this. Mellow out!

  • obviously you didn't get my point.

internet and technology gives us all new chances but it seems to fvck up things a lot. Everything everywhere for everybody. takes magic away.

  • I agree with you 100 percent but how would someone stumble upon this unless they really wanted to hear it or were watching other random Stones stuff? No idiot looking for Gimme Shelter for the first time is going to find this and tell all his friends about this random outake. I found this by a suggested video while watching a Charlie Watts interview...I watched all 3 parts of it. For people like me, stuff like this rules because I appriciate it.

  • Recorded between January and March 1978, never released.

  • This morphed into "Worried About You" off of Tattoo You. Lyrics and vocals MUCH different!!!

  • A but unlikely as the basic track for the released version of Worried About You was recorded in 1975.

  • when did they record this? This is my favorite Stones country song (unless you count wild horses) but in my opinion for sure better than dead flowers and girl with far away eyes. hidden gems like this are what make the stones the greatest.

  • fuck commercial recordings

  • there is another name for this song on bl of unreleased

  • The vocals sound like a mix between Mick and Keith. But what I read is that this is just Mick on piano/vocals and Ron Wood on pedal steel. Just cool.

  • Where did you get this? This is very cool. I love the Stones country stuff. They really shine like few others on this stuff.
