a great documentary, thanks for posting. I dont know why the documentary makers chose " the farm " as the play out track......should have been a loud classic northern soul track surely
Good posting though I went from the opening through to 1975 and stopped because of dj's playing shite pop songs just because there was a dance beat to it, and playing manufactured rubbish songs aswell.
That was extremely well put together and the prodution team had done their homework and may I say that it is a credit to all involved in its making, I was honoured not only to go to the Casino every week but lucky enough to be in the dance comp! Both Sandy Holt Myself ( Paul CJ Fielding ) and another guy, but all I remember was looking into the crowd, with the heat the smell the sweat, and thinkung thank you god I love you for it was a moment in our young lives that I wll treasure for always!
i went most weeks fom 79 to the end (yes i was about 15 lol) sometimes friday and missed it so much had to go back on the saturday night all the way from Notts.
them was the days, still gives me goose bumps to this day
Wonderful documentary, thanks for uploading it. Great pic & sound qual, too (makes a change for youtube :0) Wonder how long before the copyright police take it down though?
I know the producer and the director. I'd be surprised if they objected. Good to see Mike Knowler on there. Which was better, Mike -- Wigan, or the glory days of The State?
Northern soul is not exclusive to lancashire, its a scene around the country.

Northern Soul is Lancashire. Fuck your Beatles from half a century ago (what have you done since)?
