Just thought you might like to know that is usually wise to gut your kill between 20-30 mins, due to the fact that after that the gases from the intestines leak into the entire carcass which essentially ruins all your meat. I'm a credentialed butcher of over 10 years and i can tell you right now that that deer is going to taste awful.

@SLINK25 ...I agree with you. With that certain things come into factor when hunting I take into account. I xbow killed this deer the evening before and didnt want to push it and not be able to recover it. Two it was below 50 degrees that night, which helps and three we used only the leg quarters meat still pink red which we slow smoked. I find those parts least effected at any rate of recovery I'm safe and never waste what can be used, time down 5:30pm-early next morning. Thanks for watching

@FSUNole05 it is a Excalibur Pheonix 305 fps shooting 150gr heads...you dont need much more than that...plus you dont have to worry about the cams getting off sync because there are none...just something new to try.

Young man, please read(MD DNR) the reason why they opened up crossbow hunting in select areas in Md. I hunt legal, ethical and for my pleasure. I choose to share/hunt with what I want. If its a sling shot or buckshot shouldnt matter to you. Please post a hunt for us all to see what you do...lo. Be safe and hunt often, but most of all learn something.

I use: Excalibur Bolt Cutter 150grain 1-1/16. About 68-70 pounds of knock down power at 30-40 yards. Heavy,straight and powerfull
