Nice. You can really "feel the power" when those locomotives go under the bridge. I heard someone say, "you can jump in that?" The coal will actually pull you down under and you won't be able to get out. So, I wouldn't do that lol.
@csxketh1 That was me! Though i am back home in england now, so no danger of that! Have you got any more information on the length of this train? It just went on and on! Thanks for the comment!
@ohyeahtotally08 Those coal trains go to and from Cross, SC, and are around 110 cars each, so definately over a mile long. Normally there are either three locomotives up front, or two up front, and one pushing on the back of the train.
@csxketh1 Thanks for that, we were wondering. They move a lot of air too, I recommend doing this if you havent already for a bit of fun, though being a resident Im sure you have!
@ohyeahtotally08 I've stood on that bridge many times, yes. My favorite was when it was snowing out, and a loaded grain train with four locomotives came through after starting from a dead stop. That was a sight to see. The bridge was shaking like crazy on that one!
@csxketh1 Jealous I didn't get to see that! I liked visiting america, and I feel I made the right choice choosing the Carolinas, its so charming. Appreciate your comments too!
