  • This is off-topic but this guy sounds just like Martin Sheen.

  • I think your one big frustration , feel sorry for you , just forget the whole Mormon idea ! You may be out of the mormon entanglement but where are you now , are you in Christ and is Christ in you and do you live Christ instead of living yourself ?

  • @kmichael212 Well, they don't preach anything Catholics do. And, they are not a Church, it is a fellowship, free to come or go as you please. Free to believe on your own time.

  • @kmichael212 Even if so. What's so wrong about the message here?

  • @kmichael212 I agree these neo-gnostics really don't understand the authentic Gnostics, and what drives me nuts is when they call themselves "The True Gnostic Church"!!! It is like the Protestants saying they are using the Bible John the Baptist Used!

  • @kmichael212 kmichael212 I totally agree with you, however you are misrepresenting Stephan Hoeller because all of his teachings come directly from the Nag Hammadi library. Yes he often times references other people and other religions but that is because he is a philosopher and he is not afraid to look at everything. Rarely have I ever seen him synthesize beliefs like most neo-religiosity does. Rather he simply looks at certain ideas and says "it is a possibility". Have you read their Catechism?

  • @kmichael212 I have read all the texts you have mentioned from Gnosis dot org the website of the supposed "neognostics". What in particular are they neglecting?

  • @kmichael212 You do realize that the gnostics were always growing, changing, evolving. These groups are not "neo-gnostic", they are gnostic, because the only criteria for gnosticism is a gnostic-style world view (mitigated dualism, emanationism, gnosis, etc) There were no hard and fast rules about how to be a gnostic, hence why there are so many different texts. To limit gnosticism to the past movements is to kill it.

  • @kmichael212 I agree with you completely, however Stephan Hoeller's church is definitely a real classical Gnostic Church. He at least respects what the ancient Gnostics said.

  • @kmichael212 Every Doctrine which Stephan Hoeller teaches I can support using documents more than 1500 years old. I am not trying to say EVERYTHING from antiquity is true and that Azrael Ondi-Ahman is not saying anything true! In fact Azrael Ondi-Ahman says MANY TRUTHS. Stephan Hoeller is a Classic Gnostic. The Valentinians were not as SUPER dualistic as you think.
