Jets fan here. Saints have always held a special place in my heart though .. I don't know what it is about them but I always liked them. Liked Drew Brees back in his Charger days too. Sunday was strange because I watched "my team" lose to the Colts, but then it was like watching my "adopted" team win!! Hartley kicking that 40 yarder put tears in my eyes (happy ones!) Even though I did share with you that I'm a Steelers fan I will say that way back in 1991 I was really pulling for the Saints to be the surprise team and win it all. They were a lot of fun to watch with that Dome Patrol Defense and I was happy for them that they won their first division title back then to. I do have a great deal of respect for Jim Mora in what he did with that team as well but again I'm happy for you in that they are now there and hopefully they win it all.

Original Who Dat chant originated in minstrel and vaudeville shows in the late 1800s / early 1900s.
It was used as a chant for Southern U in the late 1960s / early 1970s.
LSU picked it up in the late 1970s.
The Saints started the Who Dat chant by 1983, during the tenure of Bum Phillips.

Yea I really can't understand how people say the Saints don't "deserve" to be in the Superbowl.... doesn't 13-3 mean anything??? Colts were 14-2, I believe. Damn good records, and BOTH deserving of a superbowl appearance!!!!!

Jets fan here. Saints have always held a special place in my heart though .. I don't know what it is about them but I always liked them. Liked Drew Brees back in his Charger days too. Sunday was strange because I watched "my team" lose to the Colts, but then it was like watching my "adopted" team win!! Hartley kicking that 40 yarder put tears in my eyes (happy ones!) Congrats on the wonderful season and here's hoping you bring home a victory in 2 weeks time! Great story, great TEAM, go Saints!

first time when they started saying "who-dat" was in december 11, 2006 when they stomped dallas in dallas then they stopped saying it because after that season thay became a 8-8 team and know they say it again. WHO-DAT

"who dat say dey gonna beat dem saints?" looooooong before 2006. 1983, the New Orleans Saints organization adopted it during the tenure of coach Bum Phillips, and Aaron Neville (along with local musicians Sal and Steve Monistere and Carlo Nuccio) recorded a version of "When the Saints Go Marching In" that incorporated the chant (performed by a group of Saints players) that became a major local hit, due in part to the support of sportscaster Ron Swoboda.

Even though I did share with you that I'm a Steelers fan I will say that way back in 1991 I was really pulling for the Saints to be the surprise team and win it all. They were a lot of fun to watch with that Dome Patrol Defense and I was happy for them that they won their first division title back then to. I do have a great deal of respect for Jim Mora in what he did with that team as well but again I'm happy for you in that they are now there and hopefully they win it all.

Very true. They live off our money to live next to a hurricane prone city. When they were told to get out, they stayed. Not my problem, except my money goes to them when they need to be rebuilt.
