Toast, can you tell me how you record the audio with an outside-helmet cam like this? This is the setup I'd like to do but I am not sure how to make the audio sound clear without the visor-cam like shock and atlas do.
@Dexi I use a Drift Stealth camera, you can buy an external microphone for it. I have a video of my helmet camera set up a few videos ago from my most recent video. Just go to my main channel and look back a few videos.
@2008superduke Yep. :) It's not an awesome Super Duke, but it 's a lot cheaper, and it'll hold me over until something new comes out in a couple years that I just have to have. By then I'll have a job, hopefully making decent money.
Oh yeah, and the bike is sick with the Micron exhaust... I mean... seriously sick. If you want I can go grab some sound in the next few weeks from my buddy.
I've ridden one of these plenty of times and my biggest complaint is that darn cable right in front of the speedometer... other than that they are very solid bikes. Not thrilling powerwise but very enjoyable.
I joined the club today. After looking at a couple motorcycle vloggers I decided that I wanted one.....today I came home with one. 2001 f4i 14k miles for $2700. I hope to start vlogging next season.
That's a nice bike mate. Glad you got a cost neutral deal on it too after moving the 919 on. Its always great to get a 'new' second hand bike or car - I had similar luck a few years ago when I picked up my Jeep. Best wishes to you.
@roboticdolphin Yeah, I get a lot of crap for selling my bikes so soon haha. But little do they know, I got a better deal for the same money! But that doesn't matter with my friends, they still give me crap for selling a bike so soon haha.
@ToastToGo Haha don't think I'm criticizing, between my friend and I we've had somewhere in the neighborhood of 35+ bikes. But that's just what we do, buy, fix and sell. It's great! Not to mention a fantastic way to learn and some money to invest towards my own bikes. Just picked up a 1983 Honda C70 the other day...will be keeping this one for sure.
@rheaMDC21 Yeah hahah thanks. :) I know that Honda works and works well...and for the money, an f4i was a great deal, especially knowing that it would be reliable. I may venture out to another brand in the future as my secondary motorcycle.
AHHHH SHIZZZ NITZZZ! YOU GOT ANOTHER ONE!?!?!?! That looks like an awesome bike, you sell your hornet? Anyways, sweet bike! Probably one of the sexier looking CBR's out of the bunch...
@braceyoself777 Yeah I sold the 919. And yes I am somewhat sexually attracted to my bike lol. There are better looking ones out there, but the price is what really attracted me to this one.
wow man. you change bikes more than i change underwear. incidentally, i believe that makes your 3rd consecutive honda. the viffer, the 919 and now the f4i. you getting an rr next?
@2ballsperbike Nah, I'm staying away from the race replica. I have no idea what bike I'd get next. If all goes the way I want...I'll have a Triumph Thruxton as a second bike in a couple years.
What part of northeast pa? I'm in the philadelphia region. Also have you looked into the 600rr tail conversion? Love the blue...best color they made it in imo.
Under 1K miles! Score!!!! Great find, Scotty :) and as for Fud, if there ever was such a thing as a vlogger code handbook, he's already broken every rule in it, lol.
Just had 2 rewatch this to make sure i wasnt dreaming about u finally getting off the old man bikes and onto an amazing, bootiful (i say BOOtiful cuz its almost halloween ;P ) responsive, fun sportbike! :D
@woodenchairs and listen to u complain about someone going to slow in this vid. Never heard u say that when riding the old man bikes. Theres hope for u yet
congratulations on the new bike. I just picked up an 04 F4i myself last week as an upgrade from my 78 CB 750 and you won't be disipointed in the F4i their amazing bikes.
@borninusa98 Depends...I like the VFR for longer distance riding and highway travel because it's heavier and slightly more comfortable. I like the CBR more for around town use, twisties, and being a kid because it's a lighter motorcycle and it's easy to whip around in traffic on.
Your intro could've been a lot more surprising, if that other vlogger hadn't ruined the surpise in his video by reveiling your bike before you had a chance to .
@aztech24 It feels MUCH lighter than the VFR, so slow slow speed maneuvers are easier it seems. They both hold their own in the corners pretty well...the VFR is more stable on highway speeds because of the added weight, the CBR feels more peppy because it's a high revving i4 motorcycle which is also pretty light. But the VFR had that awesome muscle car factor that I enjoyed with it. They are pretty similar bikes, cept the VFR is a tad more comfy and spread out. Mirrors on the VFR are better
@Kawajedi Yeah, I wished I had a digital cluster when I had my ZZR...I am definitely digging the larger digital speedo. I know you can do a cluster swap on the ZZR if it really bugs you.
@grysnlvfr Hahaha yeah that's pretty funny. Feels like I'm going in circles with my bike choices. I would have kept my VFR if it was in better condition.
@lowlypawn Thanks, especially coming from you. :) I had fun making it. A little time consuming at first as I was learning Vegas some more, but it was worth it.
@peteninja24 It all depends really on the way the owner treated the bike. If the bike had a responsible owner and he didn't thrash the engine, 20k miles is still fine. I tend to look for bike with under 10k miles though, and ones that have not been sitting idle for too long. That does damage to the engine seals and such if not stored properly.
I don't get why some people say some are real bikes and some arent? A ninja 250 is a bike, and the fi4 is also a bike. Both are two wheeled vehicles. Is this just a subjective opinion? If so why do they post it as a fact? Thx.
@luisloks It's all about opinion. Some people say all Hondas are toys and Suzukis are real bikes...because they don't like Honda. It's like them saying "now this is the way a bike should be made" kind of statement. It's all opinion because of course they are all real physical bikes.
@jajajacol Lol, well hopefully I will keep it for a very long time. I think I'm giving everyone a headache from all the confusion from switching motorcycles so often. I record in 30 fps.
@pch0mey Haha. You know...I'm going to keep this bike just because everyone is saying I will get rid of it. So...I will probably keep the bike even if I stop riding it lol.
Dude, you spent ages going on about how the 919 was a great bike and no matter what anyone says it was the perfect bike for you... So own up. Did you bow to peer pressure over riding an old man's bike? Did you in fact sell the 919 to your Dad when he realised it was more fun than his Harley? :)
@YarekBalear I wish I had sold my 919 to my dad...then I could ride it whenever I wanted still. :) But no, I didn't sell it because of peer pressure. Although, it was something that helped me decide. I have honestly missed owning a sportbike, the sleekness, the sexiness, the adequate suspension. I knew I wanted to get a sporbike again, and since I had the opportunity to sell my 919 for the same price I bought it for, I decided to take advantage of that.
@ToastToGo Hehe, don't worry mate, someone has to take the mickey out of you now that your friends are probably jealous of the bike you just bought. I'm providing a service really :P
@54thSlider LOL...why do you automatically assume that I am getting another bike in the future? Haha. Honestly...probably a cafe racer of some sort. I'd own that in addition to this bike.
Looks like there's a small scratch between the "CBR" d-cal and the turn signal on the right side of the front fairing! Sorry i just felt like being an asshole for some reason, guess iv been on youtube to much. =P
@sgtmarkins Yes, it still has the new bike smell, love it. The 919s suspension was really horrible, the exhaust smell got to me and stuck on all my clothes after every ride, and I missed having a sportbike,
@WildBill1006 The exhaust smell stuck on all my clothes after every ride, and it got really annoying because I have a strong sense of smell. Also, the suspension was horrible...bike would get uneasy in corners with a slight bump or something, and the bike would try to buck me off every bump when riding normally. High speed compression of the shock kind of sucked, which is why it did that. Those things, and that I could essentially trade my 919 for a sportibke made me make the choice.
@ToastToGo it funny all except for the exhaust smell is the same reasons I got rid of my 599. Its kind of weird that the 919 was your dream bike for sometime and you always talking about it and it turned out to be your nightmare instead. Best of luck ith the cbr and glad to see you stuck with Honda. Enjoy and looking forward to seeing more vids with you on her.
@WildBill1006 If the 919 didn't have exhaust smell, better suspension, and more stable cornering, I would still have it. Haha, I am happy to stick with Honda. Love them...may venture out to something different as a second bike in the future.
The color on that bike is just awesome. I can't believe you found it damn near brand new. That's just insane. Didn't even have her first oil change yet. LOL. Good job bro.
I picked up my 2007 YZF-600R (a leftover BRAND NEW model) at a local dealership for $4,000 out the door. I signed the paperwork and ran out the door before they changed their minds... bwahahahahaha
I guess because it was in October and their sales floor was full of Sleds that I got such an awesome deal (hint hint) ;-)
@ToastToGo yea i lowsided going prolly 80. honestly idk how fast i was going but i was definately moving. i came into the turn, my lines were fine and my body positioning was good. i couldn't get the knee down cuz i didn't have pucks on (i had jeans, jacket, boots, gloves and helmet) and i was leaning so far that i was scraping pegs on a cbr 1000 haha and i had to lean just a hair more so i wouldn't go off the road and when i did i lowsided. bike hit curb, flipped twice then hit concrete wall
@ToastToGo theres a few but i was just hopping on the interstate, or atleast trying haha. i just had some road rash but not too bad. that shit hurts bro. always wear ur gear. i had every piece i could on and still got some

Keep an eye on your tires, if the tread isn't worn out they're normally replaced every six years.

Nice... Still must have that new bike smell.
What did you not like about the 919?
sgtmarkins 4 months ago
@sgtmarkins Yes, it still has the new bike smell, love it. The 919s suspension was really horrible, the exhaust smell got to me and stuck on all my clothes after every ride, and I missed having a sportbike,

Have commitment issues much? LOL! j/k Good move bro, love it! and my fav color! ;)

@lampingromeo Yeah, I may have commitment issues.
ToastToGo 4 months ago
congrats man on the new ride. So what did I miss why did you get rid of the 919?
WildBill1006 4 months ago
@WildBill1006 The exhaust smell stuck on all my clothes after every ride, and it got really annoying because I have a strong sense of smell. Also, the suspension was horrible...bike would get uneasy in corners with a slight bump or something, and the bike would try to buck me off every bump when riding normally. High speed compression of the shock kind of sucked, which is why it did that. Those things, and that I could essentially trade my 919 for a sportibke made me make the choice.
ToastToGo 4 months ago
@ToastToGo it funny all except for the exhaust smell is the same reasons I got rid of my 599. Its kind of weird that the 919 was your dream bike for sometime and you always talking about it and it turned out to be your nightmare instead. Best of luck ith the cbr and glad to see you stuck with Honda. Enjoy and looking forward to seeing more vids with you on her.
WildBill1006 4 months ago
@WildBill1006 If the 919 didn't have exhaust smell, better suspension, and more stable cornering, I would still have it. Haha, I am happy to stick with Honda. Love them...may venture out to something different as a second bike in the future.

Pretty cool. Loved the intro.
So no obligatory wheelie at the end when you pass that slow guy?
Fudmottin 4 months ago
@Fudmottin Nahhh no wheelie. I have not gotten that comfortable with the bike or wheelies yet. Im no DS83. 8-)

Nice. The only thing I don't like about the F4I is the banana seat.

@TheJimmyEnglish It's more for comfort than looks.

Good move, as the bike is like new. Another good thing is you already sold your other bike. Enjoy the new ride Scott.

The color on that bike is just awesome. I can't believe you found it damn near brand new. That's just insane. Didn't even have her first oil change yet. LOL. Good job bro.

@rynoride What i wanna know... where's Toasts CHROME MIRRORS!?
funkiershit 4 months ago
I understand exactly what you're talking about!
LordTimelord 4 months ago
@LordTimelord Holy CRAP that is an amazing deal hahaha. The dealerships over here suck and will rape you with the price no matter what.

ToastToGo 4 months ago
@ToastToGo yea i lowsided going prolly 80. honestly idk how fast i was going but i was definately moving. i came into the turn, my lines were fine and my body positioning was good. i couldn't get the knee down cuz i didn't have pucks on (i had jeans, jacket, boots, gloves and helmet) and i was leaning so far that i was scraping pegs on a cbr 1000 haha and i had to lean just a hair more so i wouldn't go off the road and when i did i lowsided. bike hit curb, flipped twice then hit concrete wall
frostyisag10 4 months ago
@frostyisag10 Oh wow!! Hah dang...well I am glad you're alive to tell the story. There aren't any real twisties over here to have fun on.
