@Waiting4thaWroms not at all.. i'm with you on this. nothing frustrates me more than when "fans" of the series disregard Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 either claiming they aren't part of the series, or that they refuse to play because of the graphics. Both games were fantastic and i think a remake is in order.

Y'know, s'funny... the first Metal Gear game I ever owned and beat, was Metal Gear Solid 4... the next was 3... then 2... should this trend continue, I'll get Metal Gear Solid, then Metal Gear 2, and finally Metal Gear 1, in that order.

The most interesting part is, between those three games, Metal Gear Solid is prably the easiest to acquire, and Metal Gear is probably the hardest.

@Celdrach the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for PS3 & 360, it came out last month in America (if you're in Europe I think it comes out in like February). It comes with MGS2, MGS3 (which also includes Metal Gear 1 & Metal Gear 2) and MGS Peace Walker.

Sometimes a game should just be enjoyed in its original form. There's something about the 2D 8-bit format that adds something to the challenge.

@ThatGamerboi I have, and I remember how frustrating it was. I remember that, no where in the game did it tell you there was a specific order to lay the plastique on the computer.

But, on a side note, have you played Mega Man 9, downloadable on the Wii and other systems? Only a couple years old and they DELIBERATELY made it old school 8-bit. There's something to be said for it. Or at least, 2D graphics...

I played all the Solid games as they came out. And I just recently rebought the Essential Collection, and Part 3 does not have the 2nd disc damnit. I wanted to play this so bad. Can I download the rom to this, or is it in Japanese? Well if not than I'll find some way to play, even if i got to buy the 2 disc version of Snake Eater! And btw, why remake MGS1 on GC when they could of done a remake of the first 2 games? I love Metal Gear!

@GamerGx it was released in America when Konami made MGS3 Subsistence ( the original Subsistence, not the collectors edition ripoff ). anyways, the original Subsistence had a disc called Persistence ( i think ). it had remakes of Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2 on it

Amazing...for a game that's been released two decades ago, the graphics are very impressive, and even today, I think it proves to be one of the best in 2D visuals. The color range was limited back in the days, but everything is so detailed, that it looks like there is a large variety of colors and players can immediately tell what certain objects are, and understand what kind of place Snake is infiltrating. I really must play this game.

This is definitely one of my favorite games of all time. Anyways why so much twin snakes hate? Twin snakes was ok , not terrible but it was cool to see the 1st mgs in the mgs 2 engine in a postive perspective .
