Yeah why these San Luis Obispo Police making $85,000.00 a year in starting salaries ripping off San Luis Obispo tax payers. Talk about absurd to pay these so called ripoff salaries per year when you look at other officers in heavy crime cities such as Oakland Ca making $40,000.00 a year. I think it is a shame our tax money is paying for cops in SLO in these recession times we're in

Actually starting for SLO is $75,000 and for OPD $69,000. Cost of living in SLO is much more than in Oakland and surrounding area. If you want police in SLO, than you have to pay the price otherwise you won't get much for a lower pay.
