@55mandreck It was genius of Hitch to do this...he said that he was not sure how he was going to make his cameo in this film as it's filmed all in a "Lifeboat"....very cheeky!
My vote would be let the British woman kill the German. Americans never had the blitz, revenge is human, it's not evil, fat bastard yawning, better yet, cut him in pieces as bait for fish.

Yeah hitchcock puts himself in all his pictures he usely walks by in the back ground. but because this was in a lifeboat he snuck himself in in the b4 and after picture in the newspaper @ 6:01, genius!

I see a metaphor fo our own times in this film. The socially "conscious" gent wants to treat the German with kindness and thereby convert him.
This is Obama's plan with the enemies of the West. He gives the Russians what they want and smiles benignly upon the maniac currently running Iran.
Let us hope O ends up as the socially "aware" touchy feely guy does. Namely, beating the crap out of Mr. Sleazak and helping him into the sea.
