Yes, indeed, many of the values Armory, collected since 1547 in the Armory, were sold by Lenin and Stalin in the 20-30 years of 20 century. Many values have been saved by museum staff such as DD Ivanov, NN Pomerantsev, PD Baranovsky, MP Moshkov and many others people.
They saved many of the treasures of the Armory. We are grateful to the museum staff in those years for the salvation of many national values that we see today in museums of Russia.
i thought the romanov treasures were sold in the 1920's? Stalin needed the funds for his projects...i'm surprised to see this...i hope someone enlightened could explain the truth to me...
