  • Brilliant.

  • i was just wondering, could you also make it sound like accordion or perhaps trombone?

  • amazing sound

  • I Want to see a guitar playing has an Accordion!!!!

  • Come on, tell the truth! That was a real Harmonica, wasn't it? That was amazing...

  • awesome!

however, i thought the Micro Synthesizer already had an attack setting? Is the hog necessary?

  • Thank You!

  • WHAAAT IS THIS RIFF! please tell me I want to learn it! I have the synthisizer equipment now let me C the Tabs!!!!!

  • Check out the "news" section of the EHX forums -- you'll find a thread in which Bill talks about how he made the clip. (Unfortunately YouTube doesn't let me post a URL in the comments.)

  • Bill Ruppert is a pretty creative fellow. Great work!

  • I wana learn to play this verry VEEERRRRRY BAD!

  • Look for the corresponding thread in the forums at the EHX site -- it would be in the "news" section. (sorry, but YouTube doesn't permit me to post the actual URL here)

  • Fair play i understand.

  • The HOG is one of the most versatile effects I've purchased. The sounds you can produce are only limited by your imagination, and a bit of luck LOL.

This vid makes me want to grab a microsynth now. DAMN YOU EHX!!!!!!

  • £900 pounds worth of effects pedals when they can buy an actual harmonica that sounds more convincing for about 5 quid. I think this 'effectology series' is interesting, but their missing the point, they should be creating sounds that you've never heard before, rather than saying look if you spend a grand on our pedals you can make trumpet sounds from your guitar.

  • Thanks for the comment -- though (for me) a big part of what makes the Effectology series fun is how Bill Ruppert (the musician) thinks up a specific goal, and then explains how he goes about achieving it.

Totally new sounds could be fun too, but that is a very different process.

Lastly, we're certainly not suggesting that anybody go out and spend £900 just to recreate the sound of a harmonica. The point is to present some interesting ideas in how you might go about using the pedals you have.

  • Is a micro synthesizer and Hog realy all i need to make this effect?

  • what tune is this i realy want to play it?

  • Fantastic!!!

    Grandma Mary

  • pure awesome! more details about this and in the future videos would be appreciated, or at least a direct link to the info so we don't have to go hunt for it. thanks!

  • fwiw, it is up on the EHX home page now -- and I'll add a direct link to that post from the YouTube 'more info' box.

  • thank you! you guys put out great products

  • sounds amazing! a single pedal with that sound would be cool

  • YOU HAVE TO MAKE A pedal that sounds just like this only one pedal i mean! it would be a hit?! damn and you could send me one too :)

  • Beautiful... Damned HOG is too rich for my blood though.

  • that's unbelievable

  • cool!

  • fyi: The musician playing in this clip is over in the EHX forums, with more detailed info about how he gets his sounds...
